The party had been absolutely wonderful. Sure, a few people had come up to the both of them asking whether or not they had really planned on getting married any time soon, but the both of them just straightened things out and went on with their night. It wasn't even half as bad as she thought it would be, and she felt like an idiot for wanting to stay inside and miss the party all because of some stupid article. She was having a great time, and she was spending time with Seth which was always fantastic, and she had mingled with a few of the other players, and...she was just having a lot of fun.
The glass in her hand was filled up with that familiar red liquid that she always sipped on, a cosmopolitan, as she watched everyone move around her. She grinned at how ecstatic everyone seemed, finishing off her drink before she placed the empty glass down on the counter and turned to face Seth. He was having such a great time, and she didn't want to ask him to leave just because she wanted to. Not that she was bored, but she didn't want to get completely wasted, and had a feeling that if she stayed she'd just keep drinking. So, she leaned over and gave him a smirk. "I don't want to ruin your good time, but...I think it's time for me to go."
Seth was having a great time. He wasn't downing beers like some of the other partiers were but he had his fair share. He was slightly tempted to add fuel to fire of rumors going around about him and Savannah, but once she started denying it he followed suit. He had other ways to have fun with this. What good were rumors if you didn't have fun with them.
"Go? Right now?" he said with a hint of a whine when she leaned over. "What if I said you weren't allowed?" he wrapped his arms around her waist. "See you're trapped. Can't go anywhere without me."
"I'm not allowed?" she said with a light laugh, her hands going to his arms as she tilted her head back to get a good look at him. “Well, this is quite a predicament. If I’m not allowed to go anywhere without you, than we either stay here, or…we go. But I really don’t want to drag you away from your party. You deserve this, being a champion and all.” She leaned up, her hands moving to brush through his hair, pushing it away from his eyes. She wasn’t sure of how much she had had to drink that night, but it was definitely enough to give her a nice buzz. So she wasn’t drunk, but she had definitely had enough where it was effecting her. “So what’ll it be?”
"Mmm... We go." he murmured as she ran her hands through his hair. He wasn't particularly drunk either, just had a very good buzz. "I was a champion last year too. Except I had no one to drag me away from a perfectly good party and work up with the worst hang over ever. And I can think of quite a few things that are way much more fun."
“So, I’m doing you a favor, then?” She smirked, deciding to ignore the last bit of his statement about having much more fun. Not that some of the same thoughts hadn’t run through her own mind, but they still hadn’t really…done anything. That was really Savannah’s fault, since she had serious trust issues. She didn’t want to fully commit to any relationship until she was sure that she loved them, and they loved her in return. But he hadn’t even tried to press anything…which was fantastic. Made her feel comfortable, which was very important.
“Alright then. Let’s go.”
Once they got back his, no, their apartment (he really did enjoy the sound of that) he remembered what he had been planning earlier that day. He had a big grin on his face as he leaned down and kissed her on the forehead. "Wait here for a minute. I got something for you." he said before turning and heading off to his room in the back of the house.
Even though he found what he was looking for right away he took his time getting back to her. The suspense was all worth while. So he might freak her out just a bit, but the opportunity was just too good to pass up. He got down on his knees and took her hand in his. "Savannah I-don't-know-your-middle-name Davies, will you take this candy ring as a sign of my love and affection for you?" he said amazed he was able to keep a straight face through the whole thing. "Be the Candy Lady for the Candy Man?" he said smirking finally and letting out a chuckle.
Sav rose a brow as he asked her to wait there, but she nodded, shutting her eyes as he kissed her forehead. Once he left the room, she began to walk around the living room. It was still a little bit strange, knowing that she was going to be officially living with him in just a few days. Sure, she had been sleeping there for the last couple of days, but some of her stuff was still back at her own apartment. But it would just be a couple of days, and then it was real. Oy, just thinking about it was making her wring her hands, pacing back and forth as a smile crept onto her lips.
When she heard his footsteps behind her, she turned around, but her smile dropped from her face. Her eyes widened as she watched him drop down to one knee, looking down at the candy ring that was presented to her. She probably would have laughed and hit him on the shoulder and called him an idiot, but she was too focused on the words that came along with the ring. My love and affection for you. Love? He loved her? Or was it just something that came to his mind with the ring. Her eyes blinked, and she took the candy ring, and twisted it in her fingers. “Leanna.” She lifted her gaze to meet his eyes, shrugging her shoulders. “It’s my middle name. Savannah Leanna.”
"Leanna" He repeated staying down on his knees. "Its very pretty. Definiately suits you." he said kissing her knuckles, looking up at her expectantly. It wasn't as though he was expecting an answer per se but maybe at least a laugh or a chuckle. He grinned before standing up and kissing her softly. Ok so if he was completely honest with himself he would admit he was disappointed he didn't get an answer. Even if it wasn't real.
She was able to smile at his compliment, but she was still focused on what he had just said. Did he really love her? She wanted it to be real, and not just make believe like the rest of his little ‘proposal’, but she couldn’t be too sure. She returned his kiss, still holding the candy ring that he had given to her before she pulled away to look down at it again. Her lower lip was sucked in so she could softly bite down on it before raising her eyes to focus in on his. “I love you, Seth.” After she got those words out, she sort of held her breath, waiting for him to say something in return. That was really all she wanted, she wanted him to say he loved her back, or tell her that he didn’t, just so that she was sure.
Seth just stared at her blinking once or twice, his mouth hanging open slightly. Yeah he wanted an answer but things went to joking to serious way faster than he'd expected it to. "Are you sure?" he wanted to take back the word once he said them but it was the first thing that came to mind, even if it sounded hurtful, it was still important. "I mean... well I meant what I said but you don't have to answer that. I shouldn't of said that. It's just..." he ran his hand through his hair and sighed, smiling slightly. "Look, you've got me rambling. I love you too." he said simply leaning over and kissing her. "I don't propose to every girl with candy rings."
Her mouth went dry when he spoke first, feeling as though she were about to faint because he was asking if she was sure. It took her this long to finally say it and now he was doubting it? That wasn’t a good sign, right? Or maybe he just didn’t understand why. She finally blinked when he began to speak again, her eyebrows knitting together in the center as he went on and on, only to be able to relax once he repeated the words back to her. Since she was still in a bit of shock, it took her a moment to be able to smile after he kissed her, nodding her head. “I’m sure. I don’t know when it happened, but I’m sure.” Her smile turned into a grin as she looked down at the ring, looking up at him, raising it to give it to him, giving him her left hand.
“Can you put it on me?”
