Kendall had been in a foul mood for weeks. He didn’t have nearly enough time to play with the new beater before the beginning of the season, so he was not at all use to the way he flew. Axe just generally didn’t care how close a bludger came to him as long as it didn’t knock him out or prevented him from catching the snitch. Just in general, playing was not as easy as the season before.

He reached into his bag to grab one of his tacos that he brought to eat before practice and bit into it angrily. It wasn’t the fact that he didn’t have Felicia watching his back every game anymore that bugged him (he wasn’t stupid, he knew that she watched out for him more than the others) it was the fact that she didn’t even mention the trade until after it was finalized. Would it have been so hard to possibly mention that an offer was made? And now, after the fact it was hard to talk to her about it because the start of the season was so hectic.

Kendall spotted the hand reaching into his bag of tacos out of the corner of his eye and reached out and grabbed the wrist with his well trained reflexes. “I wouldn’t if I were you.” he said neutrally to whomever thought he was distracted enough to steal his food. Probably Axe. It was always Axe. But today Kendall was in a piss poor mood and honestly a stress eater so, he wouldn’t be getting away with it.

"I wasn't going to eat it!" Axe protested, snatching his wrist back and rubbing it in a wounded manner. "I was just going to taste it."

He was, after all, a man of notable stature. Compactly muscular, even. And he had a most strenuous job, it was imperative that he nourish his body at the proper intervals. If certain teammates happened to want to assist in feeding him, well, then. Who was he to say no?

Of course, if they also left their food unattended, and he happened to be hungry—Well, one would think they'd have learned by now.

Foiled, he tried to crane his head closer to peer inside the bag, heedless of his Seeker's foul mood (frankly speaking, he thought it was not much different than Kendall normally with him, particularly the few fledgling weeks of this season). "What are they, anyway?"

“Steak Tacos. Yes, there are three more, and no, you can’t have one. My tacos. Mine.”

He didn't know what tacos were, but if they smelled like that and they had steak, then—His pout morphed into a scowl as he tried to look inside the bag once more, and then at Kendall's disgruntled face. "You know, Broadmoor, I have noticed you have a deep, psychological vendetta against sharing."

Deciding that, for now, it would be wise not to make a play for the bag, he clasped his hands behind his back. "I feel this may be bad for our team spirit."

“I have no issues with sharing with people who ask first.” Kendall said taking another bite of his taco. He chewed thoughtfully as he looked up at his captain’s pouty face. He couldn’t help smile a bit at it. No matter what his mood, he had to admit this was a bit entertaining. “You should ask Charlie. He said they were the best he had ever had.” He finished off the last of it licking his fingers. “Mmm.”

Axe could feel himself pouting, because he'd never really been denied before. That is to say, Broadmoor was never fine with it, but by the point he'd found out, Axe had generally already consumed the food in question and as such couldn't be told no, just have heads shaken at him.

He did not care for this turn of events.

"Spinnet shares with me!" Axe didn't know if that was necessarily true or not, but Spinnet chose to never raise objections when his food was eaten. Axe decided because of that, it was not specifically an exploitation of power.

"But I did not want those, just the same."

“Spinnet would give you his first born if you asked for it.” Kendall said pulling out another taco. He furrowed his brow at Axe’s final words. “So you don’t want a taco then?” he asked confused. Didn’t this all start over him trying to steal a taco.

He ate a bite of his taco, trying to decide how nice he wanted to be. Being as it was still early in the week, leaving a quite a few practices left and a multitude of opportunities for payback, Kendall decided to throw him a bone. “You know, I could be convinced to share, if one were to ask nicely.”
