the proud arista e. sykes ([info]bratemius) wrote in [info]valesco,
Arista eyed the interloper suspiciously. Not only was she that, but she was an interloping Seeker, so Arista was a little wary of her. Not to mention a bit offended, because even if she was debasing herself enough to covet Jeremiah's attention, it was still attention! She was not at all fond of when it was off her, which made her marginally more inclined to fight for it.

Though she wasn't certain she wanted to do that, if it meant she had to listen to more of these inane jokes. Her nose twitched a little, and to her most appalling discovery, found she couldn't really fathom the answer. She blamed that on the quality of joke rather than her own intelligence, but the truth was that a superior joke would probably stump her more. Not that anyone had to know that, of course. Arista Sykes was beyond jesting. Unless it was a Pride, of course, in which case she would laugh regardless (see: Miles and the case of the vierge).

"Oh, very well," she said reluctantly, still eyeing Drea speculatively. "What's the answer?"
