Therese turned immediately to stop Michal; the last thing she needed was to cause him any trouble, what if there was someone with a camera, or a reporter following him around? She could already see the headlines tearing her apart. She'd managed to stay out of the rags during her time with Rupert but who knew how long that could last. How had their night barely begun but had been ruined so drastically?
Her thoughts of worry dissolved as Michal tore into Remy. As she wiped away at a few loose tears Therese couldn't stop the smile that slid onto her face, feeling her chest pound with something like pride. He was sticking up for her when they had already been given the out; Michal wasn't her boyfriend, he didn't have to do anything but he was. Her cheeks were now red from the bit of adoration she was feeling, and it wasn't until Michal was done with his tear that she felt Remy's intense gaze on her. Therese's smile faded and she sent a vicious glare toward her ex before stepping forward and wrapping her arm around Michal's.
"Leave," she said sharply. Remy's frown tightened and his mouth twisted. Therese could tell it was very difficult for him not to respond to Michal's insults, his tongue always ran over his teeth when he bit back what he really wanted to say. Instead, he waved a dismissive hand and made a pointed gesture at the two of them before disapparating with a loud crack that made the portraits hanging on the walls shake. Therese's eyes shut tightly at the sound and once he was gone she let out a relieved breath.
"I'm so sorry," she said with a shaky voice, pressing her face into Michal's shoulder. Now that Remy was gone and the rather tense situation was over, her adrenaline was slowly dissipating and allowing her true nerves to pass through.
