"We might implode before I get the chance," he said with a light laugh, thinking of how crazy Cadfan had already driven Odette. The man was reaching Seth-like levels of annoyance, and he could see the Magpies' captain herself disbanding the squad just to get rid of their newest teammate.
He was glad for the warm robes he'd chosen tonight as the breeze on the pitch was making the hair on his neck stand on end. Thomas was nearly twitching to ask in his non-nonchalant way why she'd asked him here, why she needed to see him so quickly. Billie knew that he was seeing someone, so naturally he assumed it was not a meeting of that nature so...he really didn't know. Thomas was aware that she did not grow very close to many people on the team or in the league, but what couldn't she have confided with him over the journals?
