Adamina!
He'd been spending an awfully long time in the garage these past few days. Tim had somehow managed to keep this part of the house from getting covered in pink and stuffed animals, and it was definitely where he went when he needed some time to think or breathe. He was feeling awful about rejecting Adamina's offer to help him start up his own company, but---he'd always done things for himself, he was always the one to build up whatever he wanted to do he...Tim didn't know how to gracefully accept help from his friends, his family, his wife.

It was stupid if he admitted it out loud. Tim felt like his...he couldn't even think it. His honor could be compromised, his manliness, it---it was already hard enough to make sure that Adamina's parents didn't think he was some halfblood slob (which he knew they did, but they were decent at hiding it since he was half a Nott and the muggle came in a few generations back...). It---it was all too much, and he'd rather sit in his garage tinkering with spells that would help with the gutter situation.

The door of the garage creaked open and he looked up quickly, smiling at Adamina's appearance. "Hello Blue Eyes," he said, taking a deep breath.

Adamina was itching for a fight.

Well, maybe not a fight, exactly, but she wanted a resolution. And if that resolution had to come from mummy and daddy raising their voices at each other a little, so be it! If she had thought Tim was merely blowing off steam and that was why he'd talked about starting his own business, she'd have left it alone. But she knew that it wasn't, and she found it very disagreeable he was not persuaded on the topic. Not only was he not persuaded, but instead of fighting it out with her, he was being avoidant and far too civil over it! It was unacceptable. And she didn't understand it. But moreover, it was unacceptable.

But Adamina let him fester for a few days before executing her grand strategy.

As she breached his manly cave, the endearment made her smile briefly. But she scolded herself that she would not be swayed from her purpose, and wagged a finger at him. "You've been avoiding me," she sang, crossing her arms.

So it perhaps wasn't the sneakiest of strategies.

His face turned a dark shade of red and he averted his eyes. Tim had gone through a phase in school when he'd been quick to start a fight with anyone. Maybe it was his anger about his home life, Ryan's influence, the substances in his system, but Tim could barely remember those days since his being with Adamina. She'd brought a meaning to his life that had caused all that anger to dissipate, so it was hard to feel this way towards anything remotely close to her, or his home, or his family.

And it wasn't even anger. It was....it was this stupid pride that he could never let go of. Tim found it nearly impossible to accept help or any sort of charity that might come his way if he could see a solution of his own. He would just have to work extra shifts, he would just have to start taking on side jobs, he would....he would miss out on time at home, for now, if it meant that his and Adamina's life would be better for it then that's what mattered, right?

It could be better right now, but Tim's sense of pride also came with a heap full of guilt and he knew, he knew that he'd never be able to look Adamina's parents in the eye again, and it had already taken him so long to gain some ounce of respect and---

"I don't like avoiding you," he said, somewhat admitting his tricks. Tim looked back up at her with a wince, one eye shutting as his teeth gritted into a nervous smile. "It's hard."
