"Suffocating," she said with an equally shy smile. Maggie took hold of her skirt and sat up a bit, crossing her legs at her ankles as she turned to face Adrian. She had been trying to examine him all night; Maggie had taken a vow of silence, but she was keen to see how his shoulder was doing after his splinching. Sworn to secrecy, break her wand and hope to die, Tony had made her promise. She couldn't imagine what had made Adrian splinch himself, because at his best friend had at least managed to hide that. The news of the trade might have done it, Maggie knew the feeling all too well. When she had found out about her move to the Tornadoes she had wanted to disappear and never be found. If she hadn't been with Adrian at the time she was sure that they would have found her in bits and pieces, wailing and wailing about it.
Her hands were folded together on her lap, and she fought the urge to rest them on the slight swell of her stomach. She was showing much earlier than she had with Josef; that first time she'd been nearly six months before anyone could really believe she was pregnant. Even if she wanted to keep this news from Adrian, she wouldn't be able to for long. She would just have to figure out how to tell him, what to say...Maggie wanted to find some sort of normalcy with Adrian based solely on their feelings for each other, but if she told him about the baby then his feelings would be skewed. If she didn't tell him, well..that would be worse than the reason they'd broken off their engagement, Maggie believed.
"You've always looked very good in blue," she said, her smile a bit bolder now. Maggie felt pretty for the first time in weeks, and it made her feel better, a little like her old self. Maybe she shouldn't have been avoiding going out in public all this time. She gave her head a slight nod to the side, "And gold. Very good in gold."
