It had been decided that he was going to dance with every single, married, divorced, or willing woman he could get his hands on. With his job, Tony made friends all throughout the league, and felt comfortable joining in conversations with the Harpies to the Wasps, and then to mingle with the Cannons and Tornadoes. He loved his job, it made life with an almost four year old (Merlin!) rather chaotic, but he wouldn't have it any other way. If his job was boring, if he did the same thing every day, every week, every year, he would have sunk back into the depression he'd left Japan in after the fallout with Emi. Nights like this helped him realize that he was blessed, but when the girls went back to their dates and the women twittered back to their husbands he also was reminded about how terribly lonely he was.

Tony found his way to the bar, keeping a skip in his step so to not completely ruin the pleasant atmosphere he'd created for himself. The band was rather good and he kept his toes tapping while he waited for the bartender to bring his drink. Adrian had left his side ages ago, but that was all for the better; his friend had done nothing but suck the happiness out of the air for the last two months and Tony needed to breathe. He'd always be there for Adrian, but his best mate surely needed a swift kick in the ass.

He fiddled with the button of his jacket, hoping he looked all right. He knew every other bloke in the place was wearing a fancy suit or set of dress robes, but they were always attending these kinds of things. Tony didn't always make the guest list when it came to quidditch events, so maybe tonight he'd make someone notice him for something other than his moves on the dance floor.
