Kendall Jackson Broadmoor ([info]kjbroadmoor) wrote in [info]valesco,
Kendall was quite positive that this game was never going to end. And not in the 'this the best game of my life, I hope it never ends' way either. More like the 'I am going to be stuck on the pitch until I can't fly anymore and then McLaggen will catch the snitch and my life will be over' way. Rain sucked. Lightning sucked. Bludgers sucked. Especially when Kendall failed to dodge them.

He was winded and sure that he was sporting a few broken ribs, surprised he was even still on his broom, when he spotted a flicker of gold. For a second, Kendall was almost convinced it was just the stars one sees after being hit to hard but it didn't fade, it just became more clear as he stared at it. He wasted no time speeding after the snitch. He didn't have a clue where Finn was or even if they were ahead, all he knew was he wanted this damn game to be over and he had the chance to catch the snitch.

And then, it was all over and Kendall was never opening his hand again, because if he did the snitch would get away and they would have to start all over again. He looked around for any sign as to whether he would be murdered for sealing their fate as merely second place or if celebrations of the grandest kind were in order for securing the win.

It took him only seconds to realize it was the latter of the two and everything from that moment until he was literally pulled away from Felicia was a blur. He was expecting Axe, or even Charlie, definitely not Finn McLaggen holding out his hand to shake his. Wasn't that something done between Captains. Then he processed what he had actually said. The two facts combined were a compliment of the highest order and it stunned him just a bit. Kendall couldn't help but let a grin take over the confused look that was on his face.

"Thank you" he managed finally taking Finn's hand. "You definitely made me work for it, that's for sure."
