NEW YEAR'S EVE POST
It felt good to be the host of the party, and not the one creating a scene and making an entrance. Though Charlie would never admit it, the therapy sessions with Healer Bonaccord had...well, he still wasn't happy with everything going on in his life, but it had given him an outlet other than the bar, and that was allowing him let out the pent up stress he'd been bottling in. It was hard to figure things out by yourself, and for someone whose ego was as fragile as his, Charlie was slowly realizing that he needed a complete stranger to release his anxieties.

Of course, he wouldn't feel like he'd completely found peace until he managed to get her in the sack, but that was just a personal goal of his.

At any rate, Charlie was finding that being the host was interesting. Everyone knew you were going to be there, so there wasn't a great surprise when they saw you, but after those greetings were done they were off to see who else had shown up. It looked like a good outcome, but Charlie felt a bit slighted as it was pretty deep into the night and a certain invitee had not appeared in the crowd. With a breath he pushed the door open to the balcony and stepped out into the cool December night.

He stuck his hands into his pockets, spotting some displays of fireworks over the tops of the surrounding buildings. Charlie grinned at the early celebrations and let his shoulder sag.

ooc: guests = quidditch related people + their guest?

While he was off getting her something to drink, she took the time to once again smooth out her hair, pivoting on her heel in order to step a bit further outside the door. She was glad it didn’t take too long to get them both a new beverage, seeing how he lost his first one nearly knocking her to the ground, and accepted the Scotch with a grateful smile. “Not at all.” Her fingers curled around the glass, though she didn’t take a sip yet. Instead, she let the tip of her pointer finger drag along the rim, drawing slow circles as she listened to him speak.

“Do you normally go around body checking opposing beaters in hopes of making conversation?”

She smirked at the idea, even though she was simply teasing him.

“A strange way of saying ‘hello’.”

"I'm not particularly known for going about things in a conventional way, now am I?" Seth asked with a raise of his brow. And wasn't that the complete truth. It was as if he caused waves with every move he made. "Have to keep things interesting one way or another or else life would be boring."

Seth smiled over his glass. "Its looking like your the team to beat this year."

Anya couldn’t help but let out a light laugh at how true the statement actually was. “It’s part of your charm.” She gave him a quick wink before she lifted the glass to her lips, finally taking a sip of her drink. She rolled her lips under, savoring the taste of the fine Scotch by catching the droplets that lingered on her lower tier, her eyes still focused on Seth as he smiled at her.

She noticed now more than ever how much fun he was to look at, with those electric eyes and that crooked smile that made him look like he was always up to no good…and from what she could tell, he was.

Mention of her team made her suddenly burn a little brighter, much more involved in this conversation since it had turned around to topics like Quidditch and herself.

“It does look like that, doesn’t it?” She smiled a little broader, her finger once again tracing around the edge of her glass. “We are quite pleased with how we’ve played so far this season…for the most part.” She let out a nasal sigh, not about to get into the fact that sometimes she disagreed with calls Holly or Willow made. Taking another sip of her Scotch, she turned the conversation around on him again. “I saw the news about your trade. Do you think you’ll enjoy flying with the Falcons?”

Seth couldn't help the smirk the appeared on his face after her comment about his charm. He had forgotten how much fun this could be.

"Midnight can't come quick enough." Seth said honestly. "I'm done with 1982 and the Magpies. It'll be nice to play with a team that hasn't mutinied against me." It was probably too soon to be making such jokes, but after this past week, he felt jokes were about all he had until he moved south to Falmouth.

"So tell me," Seth said sipping his scotch. "What's it going to take to take down the ladies of Holyhead?"

Anya tilted her head when he mentioned the actions of his former team – or, would be former team. She couldn’t say that the Harpies had ever ‘mutinied against her’, but more times than not, some of them were whispering about her when she walked into the locker rooms. She never cared though – they didn’t have to worry about what she did on her own time, so long as she brought 110% to the pitch each and every game. Whether or not they liked her or not didn’t matter, but they definitely had no choice but to respect her for what she could do with a bludger.

“I can only hope you will be much more appreciated there…as you should be.”

She flashed him another smile, one that grew much broader with the second breathy laugh she gave in response to something he said.

“Everything. We will not go down without a fight. No amount of Scotch is going to change that answer, if that was your master plan.”

"Hmm, we'll see." Seth said finishing off his scotch.

And a few glasses later he was pulling her onto the dance floor with a laugh. "Enough talking, you aren't spilling anything I don't already know anyways. This is a party, and we should be dancing." He said as he twirled her out and then back into his arms. Why did he give all this up again? The drinking, the partying, the fun. And for what? Wanting more got him nothing. And after a few glasses of scotch, he found he could care less anymore. New Year's was for having a good time, and Seth sure as hell wasn't going to spend it moping.

He slid his hands to Anya's waist as he swayed to the music. He glanced at the clock over the top of her head. "Are you ready for the new year? Count down starts soon."
