t h e r e s e ❥ ([info]alongday) wrote in [info]valesco,
Therese's hands went firmly to her hips the moment they could, but her face had grown so red that she was sure she looked more like a child about to fall to the floor in a tantrum than any sort of menacing. How could she even be menacing as he told her that he hadn't said those things, that he looked just as annoyed by Spinnet's loud, stupid mouth as her? Therese had short fuse, but any explosion she had was almost immediately put out with any sign of logic.

Charlie Spinnet was a bit dim, and she had notated in one session that he seemed to take everything quite literally which could definitely be a factor in the crippling state of his fragile ego. With quick breaths from her nose, Therese forced herself to at least physically relax; her mind could not stop spinning as she thought of the trouble she could be in if these rumors circulated outside of that party hall. Rumors would not end her career.

"Incroyable!" she let out, throwing up a hand, "My career is in dire jeopardy because of an idiot's stupid rumors and I don't even have the satisfaction of any of it being true!" Therese tossed her hair over her shoulder in a great display of dissatisfaction, staring down the hall and glaring at the closed doors, hoping that Spinnet could feel the blaze coming from her eyes; maybe he would choke on some bird's tongue. It wasn't until the strange image of Spinnet literally becoming tongue-tied with a girl that her words began to resonate in her head, and Therese felt her cheeks' flush course down her entire body and back up again.

"And---poor you as well," she said, waving a hand dismissively as if she had not just announced that it was a great shame that not one word of the rumors were true.
