Seth
Savannah really didn’t know how it had all happened so quickly.

One second, she was walking through the market looking for the milk when she damn near collided with the muscular frame of the last person she expected to see – her ex-husband, Seth Wadcock. It was awkward, to say the very least, considering how hard she worked at avoiding him at all costs, but somehow they had managed to get through their ‘hellos’, and before she knew what she was doing she was asking about Leanne, and then he was extending an invitation for her to join the two of them at the park the next afternoon.

And then she had agreed to it.

The whole thing seemed like a blur, but she couldn’t back out now. Not that she necessarily wanted to, but it had nothing to do with the man who had almost knocked her back a step or two on her way down the aisle. She honestly missed the little girl – the one who she had been sending birthday cards and gifts to, even after the divorce between she and her father was over and done with. Savannah had stayed with Seth for two reasons after she had shown up on the doorstep that was, at the time, theirs: she loved him, and she didn’t think it was fair, for another woman to abandon the child like her own mother had. For a while, Savannah had been the mother figure in her life, but it was so hard to see her when she knew that meant having to confront her father, as well.

Savannah smoothed out the fabric of her shirt, seated on a bench off to the side of the playground where Seth had told her to meet them. She had arrived early, so she could buy a cup of coffee at the shop nearby. She was…well, she was nervous, to be honest, and wished that they would hurry up as she took a sip of her coffee, her legs crossed at the knee with her foot bobbing.

She wondered, while she waited, how big Leanne had gotten…and if she even remembered who she was.

Her eyes closed at the thought, and she let out a breath she hadn’t realized she had been holding, wetting her lips before re-opening her eyes, watching the other children play.

It wasn’t like she didn’t want to be able to accept his apology and just move on like nothing had ever happened, but this wasn’t just something that a simple sorry could fix. After everything that had happened with Logan, and even Finn (she understood that he wanted to have a chance to have a family with Joy and Cormack, so that didn’t hurt so bad…), she was starting to think that there was something wrong with her, and being divorced didn’t help with that.

She turned to look at him again, brows lifting with interest at the idea of being able to see Leanne more often, though she didn’t get to hear his full thought due to the sound of a little girl’s voice cutting him off. Savannah turned to Leanne to ‘look’ or ‘wook’ at what she was extending out to her.

She was quiet for a moment, letting out a simple ‘oh’ before she looked at the little girl’s bright and beaming face, giving her a broad smile.

“Do you think I should wear it?” She handed it back to Leanne. “Will you help me?” She then ducked her head forward so that she could place it on the top of her head, lifting her own hands to adjust it before sitting back up. “How do I look?” She gave a little pose, and then grinned down at the little girl, waiting until she went off to play again before turning to Seth.

“Is Mira her nanny, or…?”

She trailed off, simply curious. If he was seeing someone else, she wasn’t going to be hurt by it – she might be if she found out this new relationship of his (if that was what it was) had started so soon after their divorce, but that would be the only reason she could possibly have for feeling hurt. After all, she too had found happiness with someone else.

"Ah, no. Dorothy is the nanny, and Leanne doesn't really like her much. Very strict with bed time and cleaning up."

Seth shifted on his feet. "Mira is my girlfriend. Started dating back in January. She spoils Leanne with tea parties and princess things and what not. Which is good because Leanne could care less about anything quidditch. And well, I'm not particularly fantastic at girly things."

He watched Leanne, twirling about the park, smiling softly. "Anyways, you could see her more often if you wanted."

She knew the answer to her question before he said anything – he felt uncomfortable talking about his new girlfriend in front of Savannah, and he had every reason to. Instead of getting upset, like he might have expected her to, she kept her eyes on him, watching him watch his daughter. He always lit up, whenever he looked at that little girl. She remembered that look well – and while it might have made her angry to remember anything about him a few months ago, this particular memory of their relationship made her smile.

“I’m glad she has a woman in her life who loves dressing her up in pretty clothes, giving her everything a girl could ever want.” She turned to look back out at Leanne. “I would like to see her more often…I just hope it won’t be a problem for Mira.” She turned to look over at Seth again – it was ultimately Seth’s decision, who saw his daughter and who didn’t, though she didn’t want to cause any unnecessary drama just by being in the child’s life.
