Billie!
"You know what, I am a professional!"

Thomas pointed a stiff finger at Billie, his pacing stopping for a moment to illustrate his point and to also regain some balance. His face was scrunched, eyes squinting at his teammate as he thought about what should come next from his rant. It was rather difficult to think, so he took another swig of his almost empty bottle of rum, "I have worked my ass off to be where I am today---and all that stupid----slag can----"

He let out a loud, annoyed grunt of a sound and dropped down to the couch beside her. Thomas glared at the door, though everything seemed to be moving slower than his mind. He had so many jumbled thoughts and angry things to say, but he just could not get them out. He'd taken up Billie's offer of company, seeing as she was his teammate; he may not get along very well with the rest of the Magpies, but he valued loyalty and trusted them not to spread his business around like some other woman he'd wasted too much time on.

"Five years," he moaned, dropping his head to the back of the couch, "I was with Regina for five years and she---" Thomas pressed his mouth together tightly, unwilling to verbally explain what had happened. It was too embarrassing, even if people could put the pieces from that bloody magazine's clues. "And now she's going off, spreading our business to everyone!"

Her brows lifted as he further explained the details of what had happened between him and his ex-fiancee. She didn’t even know the witch and already she felt the urge to give her a long overdue smack, since Thomas sure as hell couldn’t do it himself. Hearing that he had not only been cheated on while his wife-to-be was wearing his great-grandmother’s engagement ring, but that she was cheating on him with another Quidditch player was just the icing on the cake.

She straightened up from her leaned position on the couch though, when he began talking as though he was the ‘loser’ in this scenario.

“Are you kidding me?” She lifted one of her brows. “She’s the one who completely fucked you over by not knowing how to keep her knees together.” Billie didn’t give a damn about talking trash about someone who deserved it. “The only thing you need to confront her about is her being a heartless wench, and demanding your great-grandmother’s ring back, since she lost the right to wear it when she forgot the meaning of the word ‘faithful’.” She paused for a moment, and then leaned in towards him a little bit, almost like she was telling him some sort of conspiracy.

“Besides…any woman who would choose a Kestral over a Magpie is a damn fool.”

He'd found himself very focused on her mouth as she gave him a verbal lashing in how he was treating himself. Thomas, the ever sensible Ravenclaw, did know that Regina had no right to cheat on him, that she could have just broken things off and that would have hurt much, much less, but the emotional, sometimes insane Ravenclaw who was always present but buried deep, deep down found it hard to believe that something wasn't wrong with him.

But her mouth was moving so nicely that he could barely hear her words. No, no, he heard the last bit, about choosing Kestrel over a Magpie, and something lit up inside of him. The Kestrels had traded him away, the Magpies are where he'd won his cup, so, so she was right. Thomas let out a quick breath before lurching forward and kissing her, knocking foreheads and---oh bollocks.

Thomas pulled back quickly, his mouth wide with shock at the audacity of his drunken self,

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," he let out quickly putting his hands to the back of his head in shock. Billie was his teammate, those kind of relationships were frowned upon, he needed to control himself. "Oh God, I'm sorry."

She was admittedly a little surprised when he leaned forward like that, though her reaction time was a little off thanks to the alcohol she had consumed that night, and before she knew it his lips were against hers. Her eyes shut, but opened quickly when he pulled back. She pushed back her hair with one hand, while the other lifted to press her fingers to her mouth – he had just kissed her, and quite frankly she wasn’t really sure how she felt about it.

It was still an adjustment, having teammates who were male – the Pixies were like the Harpies of France, as in completely female. She never had to worry about this kind of thing before – getting into relations with someone on her team. Not that this was relations, but it had definitely been a kiss, and they were both kind of drunk so it wasn’t like she really minded, and…

She couldn’t help but smirk behind her fingertips, eventually dropping her hand down as she shook her head.

“I think one ‘sorry’ would have sufficed, McCormack…” She shifted her weight on the couch, and then reached over for the bottle of rum he was holding, once again kissing the brim before tilting it back, taking a long swig before dropping it down, extending it out to him.

“That wasn’t so bad, was it?”

It was just a kiss, after all… She just wished it didn’t bring to her attention how long it had been since someone - anyone had kissed her.

He was far too embarrassed to answer her right away. Thomas hadn't kissed a girl since the breakup, he hadn't gone on a date, he hadn't been attracted to anyone---not that he was attracted to Billie, well, he supposed she was rather pretty, and she played quidditch so that was always a plus, but he'd never even spoken a full conversation outside of practice with her, and here he was, trying to snog her face off.

Thomas jumped to his feet, stumbling to the side until he hit a wall. Ergh. He couldn't leave like this, he'd have to walk, he'd splinch himself into twenty different pieces. Thomas leaned heavily against the wall, letting himself take a few deep breaths to try and stand right. Maybe---nope, nope, he'd drunken himself into a snogging stupor.

"Damn it all," he muttered, putting his hands over his face. Thomas felt like such an idiot, such an idiot and such a loser, and now he was going to have to sleep on her bloody couch and wake up with the worst headache ever imagined. And then go to practice and hope Odette didn't notice that he was hungover beyond belief,

"It wasn't bad," he moaned through his hands, "I'm just an idiot."
