Who:Seth and Mira
What: Cuteness.
Where: Seth's house
When: umm yesterday?

Seth’s favorite spot in his house was his overstuffed arm chair in the corner of his living room. With Leanne in bed, Seth was lounging in said chair sideways, legs kicked up over the arm magazine in hand and listening to the wireless. With Quidditch having started, the rumor mill was in full swing and it was nice not being the center of it.

Also, he was pretty sure he was quite enjoying not being captain. It was a new revelation, within the past few days. Because if he were captain, he wouldn’t be able to spend nearly as much time with Leanne and Mira. He also wouldn’t be able to lounge around like he was.

He glanced up at his clock, checking the time, Mira would be by soon, perhaps he should get up and tidy up some of the clutter. He turned the page of the magazine and spotted an article about the latest Cleansweeps, or maybe not. He’d do it in a bit.

Ugh, these groceries were heavy.

Mira stood outside the front door of Seth’s house with bags in her hands as she fiddled with the key in the lock. Usually this wouldn’t be a problem; she rarely brought bags full of food over and overloaded herself in this way, but after fetching the key from it’s hiding place on the porch, she had gotten lazy. That’s what she got for being a good girlfriend and ensuring Seth didn’t starve himself out now that Quidditch had started. She swore he was eating ten times more now because of it.

She blinked, realizing how strange of a thought that was for her to think. And even stranger now that she had brought more food, for him and Leanne. The back of her neck bristled, and Mira quickly jammed the key toward the door until it eventually found the lock hole. Hitting it with the palm of her hand, she felt her palm start to ache with pain in protest. Well, it was just going to have to wait!

Eventually Mira managed to open the door and slip in, practically skidding as she walked. How had these bags seemingly gotten heavier in the past few steps!

“Hello!” she squeaked, rushing past him into the kitchen. She knew he would soon follow her in, so she quickly dropped the bags to effectively soothe herself. Shaking her limbs and jumping slightly, she finished brushing back her hair just in time. “Hi,” Mira said smoothly as Seth walked in.

Seth looked up from his magazine when he heard a key in the door. It didn't normally take Mira that long to unlock the door. His brows rose at the sight of her with the overfilled grocery bags and the high pitched hello, but he didn't even have time to comment as she swiftly moved past him into the kitchen. Odd. He tossed his magazine onto the coffee table and stood to follow her.

"Hello." He greeted her smoothly, giving her a quick kiss. "Need any help?" He surveyed the bags, trying to see what she got. Mira seemed frazzled, which Seth didn't know what to do with. He hoped it wasn't because she was making him dinner. Seth hadn't asked her to, and Mira certainly didn't have to.

He peered into the bag closest to him. "You don't have to do this, you know." Seth clarified, although he was sure he had said it before. "Not that I don't greatly appreciate it."

A tight smile appeared on her lips. Her thought before had been that it was important to remind Seth every once and a while that she could do things on her own. Buy her own groceries, maintain her job, do things on her own; have a life that wasn’t completely centered around his. Mira had always been proud of her ability to take care of herself, and she refused to give it up just because Seth had the ability (and money) to do it all for her.

That didn’t mean she was about to stop him from spoiling her, though. It was a fine line, and rude to turn down gifts.

“I want to,” Mira said steadily, not missing a beat as she leaned in for another quick kiss. She had just gotten herself carried away, that was all. How could she not, when her best friend had just gotten engaged not too long ago? It would by lying if Mira said that Bianca’s engagement to Bertram hadn’t lead thought her to think about what it would feel like if it was her and Seth instead.

But none of that now, there was no reason to get herself riled up twice in the same ten minutes. “You can stay and keep me company,” Mira said, beginning to reach into different bags for what she was looking for.

“You spoil me.” Seth said, stealing one more kiss before making himself comfortable on a bar stool on the opposite side of the island, propping his chin in his hand as he watched her start on dinner. How he got so lucky he was beyond him. Honestly, this time last year he barely managing to pick up the pieces of the mess he mad his life and now. Now he had an amazing girlfriend in his kitchen cooking him dinner, because she knew that him attempting to cook was a disaster and he would starve if take out didn’t exist. And he hadn't been in a tabloid in months. Things certainly have changed.

He smile as he watched her. “One of these days you’ll have to actually teach me to cook. Then I could make you dinner. Well, an edible dinner anyways.” He snagged a carrot, munching on it. Seth greatly enjoyed it, he’d love it if they could do this always. And he wasn’t going to lie, Mira’s excitement over Bianca’s engagement the other day, had him thinking about it.

But it was too soon. They should at least live together first, right? But with Leanne, there should be something more serious going on. Although they practically live at each other’s places anyways. He was thinking about this way to much. He needed just sit back and enjoy the evening.

“Oh. That reminds me. I have something for you.” He said suddenly getting up from his seat. He’d figure out everything as things went. Worked for him so far. He went back to his room, careful to grab the right box, then back to the kitchen. He slid it across the counter.

Now that was a scary thought--- Seth, in the kitchen? It would probably be safer to bring a young dragon into the house. But Mira smiled anyway, appreciating the gesture. “Yes, many many days from now,” she spoke wryly as she began to peel potatoes.

Mira looked up as Seth jumped from his seat, her curiosity getting the best of her. What now? His sudden movements, gestures and words always unnerved her; it made it hard for her to predict what he was up to.

Though, she supposed, that was what she liked about him in the long run..... Seth caught her off guard as he nonchalantly slid a small white box across the table to her. She sent him a questioning look, taking the time to wipe her hands clean before opening it. Mira didn’t know what she had been expecting to see nestled within, but a pair of clearly expensive gold and diamond earrings had not been it. They practically sparkled, and her eyes grew wide to take them in.

Ohh Seth, you shouldn’t have,” she spoke softly, her mouth open from shock. They were very beautiful, and Mira had no idea what she had done to--- what had happened for Seth to think that giving her these were necessary? Just as quickly as awe had washed over her, it disappeared with a snap. Whatever he was thinking.... this was a very big gift--- she couldn’t accept these. Her mouth gaped open, honestly having trouble with what to say. She didn’t want to hurt his feelings, or give him the wrong idea, but--- what was going on here?

“How--- why?” Mira started, still clutching the box as her hands fell to the table.

"But I wanted to." It really wasn't that out of character to randomly give her gifts, true, it was the first time Seth spent that much money on a just because gift but its not like he couldn't easily afford it. And Mira deserved it.

"It was rather easy actually, I saw them in a store front, and thought you might like them so I bought them." He said with mock seriousness knowing full and well she really didn't care much about the how, and mostly just the why.

"You deserve them, Mira. You put up with me, and my kid and my crazy quidditch schedule. And the fact I don't cook and do stupid things all the time. Plus they match so." He listed, seeing as she seemed to be reading to much into it. "Oh and the biggest reason is, I love you, so pretty jewelry is a given. You spoil me, I spoil you. It how it works." He finished with a smile. Seth had said 'I love you' since the whole big debacle at the quidditch party, but it was easier now to say casually as a reason. And he always meant it, he just wanted to make sure Mira knew.

"So you like 'em right?"

Oh.

Mira felt her heart, and her suspicious interior, melt at Seth’s words. She looked down at the earrings in her cupped hands, feeling guilty for jumping to conclusions so quickly. That hadn’t been very right. He was just doing a nice thing--- an extremely nice thing, and the first thing she thought of was some ulterior motive? Mira bit her lip, scolding herself for thinking the worst. Seth had not shown to be the plotting, ends-meets-the-means type, so why had she thought of that?

She shook her head, and produced a small smile. “Of course I like them,” she said, pressing one of her fingers to the largest drop jewel at the bottom. Did she even own something as expensive as this? Perhaps the entirety of her shoe collection, but even then.... Mira carefully closed the box to make sure nothing would fall out as she made her way around the table to Seth.

“I love them,” she said, easing herself into his lap as she spoke. With one hand clutching the box tightly, Mira reached up with the other to hold the side of his face. She kissed him lightly, finding her next words came out easily. “And I love you, too,” Mira spoke quietly, feeling her face burn.

Seth was a bit caught of guard at first, not expecting that. It was the first time that Mira had ever said ‘I love you’ to him, and the way it made him feel was indescribable. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back soundly.

Not wanting to ruin the moment by saying something stupid, Seth just grinned, taking in the sight of the beautiful woman sitting on his lap, who loved him. She loved him. She said it aloud to him and it just made everything a bit more real. Maybe his earlier thoughts weren’t so crazy after all.

Seth tucked a strand of hair behind Mira’s ear and leaned in to steal another kiss. He wasn’t sure what else to say other than exactly what he was thinking at the moment. “I’m an unbelievably lucky man.” Which he fully believed, he hadn’t exactly been building up great karma points in the past. “I love you.” he repeated again. “And I certainly hope you never realize you are too good for me.”

Despite her face now hot-red, Mira managed to give a small smile. It was true, she had not said that to Seth before, or many men for that matter. It wasn’t that she didn’t love, no, that wasn’t the problem. It just took her a bit more convincing than normal from the other party to have her spilling out her heart. It was almost like insurance for an investment. But it was emotional instead.

She had been screwed over a lot in her past investments.

But, see! Her tactic had worked. All that waiting and watching had paid off--- Seth was wonderful, everything he said and did was for her. Mira truly believed that Seth was one of those men that would never set out to hurt her, and this realization comforted her greatly. He was... perfect. His kisses were perfect, too. She felt her mouth widen into a large smile as he kissed her again, and she wrapped her free arm around his neck to pull herself closer to him.

“Oh, I know,” Mira spoke slyly, her hand playing with his ear as she spoke. “But lucky for you, I’m the charity kind.”
