Well, at least she hadn't chosen to revisit the topic of Sturgis. Now that Darien was rightfully terrified of making an arse of himself with this bird, he didn't really need any reminders as to why he should at least try to be less like... him than he normally was.

It seemed that risking your life day-by-day actually paid pretty well as a career, strangely enough.
Coming up on the entrance, he pulled her inside with a wave to the doorman--a friend, considering his frequent party schedule--and into the vibrating den of music and lights. "Not too shabby, eh?"
