Fuck yes! So this was the girl! Darien could hardly believe his luck. Honestly, he'd been worrying himself for the majority of the day with thoughts of how badly this could go or how atrocious she could be or if she was some ugly old cat lady or if she had six arms or was missing an arm or was a burn victim or---anything that was decidedly un-hot. But no, she was definitely hot, she was more than hot... and he certainly knew what they said about redheads.
Drawing on his years of knowledge on how to come off as a proper attractive bloke, Darien leaned as casually as possible against the column and attempted to calm himself down just a little bit. Just a little, because he was pretty sure that he wasn't going to just not be excited at all about this fortunate turn of events. A mental image flashed past his mind of Derek shaking his head in disgrace at this whole situation, but he quickly dispelled it. Derek was lonely and girlfriendless and wrote sad poetry all day and he was taking out a right gorgeous bird for the night, so!
"Nope, I'd say you're a special case," he replied, just barely fighting off a wink as it tugged at his right eyelid. Gut reaction. Actually, something about this broad seemed the tiniest bit familiar--maybe he shouldn't put forth his normal, full-on man-charm in case she knew someone who could make fun of him later. "You ready to go? Hope you didn't wait too long."
