Bertram!
Being pregnant had not ruined all of Bianca's routines. Sure, she couldn't get in the exercise she wanted, and of course her wardrobe had to change drastically, but a lot of things still stayed the same. Like! Like the fact that she could not sleep past six o'clock in the morning. And that was her late day. If she had been on regular rounds at the hitwizard office, Bianca would be up at five-fifteen (those extra fifteen minutes helped). She'd have to make breakfast, do her workout, shower, get dressed, and make it to the offices for early morning reps and practices. Now that she was officially on maternity leave and with not even paperwork to do, being up at six in the morning left her with very little to do but clean and wave her wand around moving furniture and messes into their new and proper places.

She wouldn't bother waking Bertram before eight, though, which was understand and probably still a bit annoying. He had his morning routines and she'd work hers around his, that was compromise. He had been amazing lately, what with staying at her place and making sure she didn't get stuck between the couch cushions (which happened way more than she ever thought it could!). Bertram had really been the perfect boyfriend these past few months, and that was why she was going all out with breakfast today. Sure, a big reason for slipping out of bed was that her back had been killing her all night and she couldn't even try to stay in bed, plus Bertram wouldn't be up for another hour and a half, but there were warming spells for that-----

Her hand shot down to press against her stomach as a pain struck across it, causing her other hand to grab onto the counter and knock over the bowl of eggs she just whisked. Bianca's face contorted in confusion, staring down at the tiles of the kitchen.

"Uh oh," she whispered, trying to keep herself relaxed, but feeling her heart begin to race faster and faster with each passing second.

Fortunately for Bianca, it took quite a bit of agitation to get Bertram to wake up. He'd charmed his alarm clock to hop off the bedside table and kick him in the arm until he was awake. It was the only way to actually get him out of bed now that his mother wasn't around to wake him up (he didn't want to bother Bianca with something like that, especially when he was prone to smacking anything that tried to wake him up.

Of course, he'd felt bad about it after he'd done it to his mother - eventually she'd gotten one of the house elves to do the waking up and he hadn't felt nearly so bad (he usually missed them and just caught the tip of one of their ears anyway).

He woke up to the sound of glass breaking, though -- because that was a sound that meant something was going wrong, and even though he was a 'protected' pureblood, everything with his mother meant that he still worried about things even if he wasn't even at home 90% of the time now.

He groaned, rolling over onto his stomach to half-slide, half-flop out of bed and head into the kitchen, shirtless and rubbing one of his eyes like a sleepy toddler.

"Mmmf?" Bertram blinked, looking at the bowl of eggs on the ground and then back to Bianca with no small amount of confusion.

"Gooooood morning," she let out, still slightly hunched over, feeling as if she stood up the pain would come back and she really did not want it to come back. They'd had their share of false labor, Bianca really did not want to head to the hospital this close to her due date and annoy the healers. Could you imagine? They'd make her wait to push and not give her the pain potions and, "Do you want eggs?"

Bianca tried to laugh, but was unable to hide the worry and concern on her face. She'd always been so good at keeping a straight face on the force, but the one thing this pregnancy had truly taken over was her confidence. Battling death eaters and thugs in the streets? Sure! Changing diapers and giving birth to a baby like women have been doing for thousands of years? Nope. Nope. Not gonna do it.

"They're a bit scrambled," she attempted to joke again, but as if right on cue another ache spread through her, and with a quick look at the clock she saw that it had been five minutes since the last. Could her back pains from last night have been...nope, she would not say it. "Mmmm, come here," she said through gritted teeth, her hand reaching out for Bertram, fingers wriggling frantically.

Unfortunately, Bertram hadn't been around for the start of Rachel's labour - he'd only gotten to be there for the part that had involved a lot of her shouting at him. He wondered if that was just what happened when women were pregnant.

"Morning," he mumbled, rapidly becoming aware of the fact that Bianca was hunched over, and then she was beckoning him towards her and he rushed to her side as he'd become accustomed to doing. Yes, they'd had their share of false labour, and even if it had meant drinking a lot of double-espressos in the morning at work, it had been worth it to have Bianca happy. She wasn't personable when she was happy in the same way that he wasn't personable when he wasn't having sex.

"Okay," he said, taking her hands in his and blinking a little more, "What's the matter? I mean, aside from the scrambled eggs." Because she was not the sort of person to get upset about things like that, even if she was pregnant.

"Funny story," she said, not taking on a tone of amusement at all as she gripped onto Bertram's hands, unable to look him in the eye because if she did, then she would have to seriously consider what could actually be going on here. Her healers had told her that her due date wasn't official, that she should take it easy from now on, but this was not cool. This was not cool. Not cool at all! "I think I may be having----"

Nope. Couldn't say it. Bertram was going to have to figure it out all on his own because Bianca was not going to admit that she may be in you-know-what because that meant that in a few hours she would be having a baby and a baby would have to come home with her and then she'd have to be a mum and what the fuck did she know about being a mother? Amissa bossed her around most of the time, what was she going to do with a baby that couldn't tell her what to do?

"You know. Those---things that---happen," she stuttered, letting out a shaky, shaky breath, "But for real. For real, this time because these just----are real, they're real." How she knew these were real was beyond her, but Bianca guessed it was the absolute feeling of terror that stuck her at this moment that hadn't before in her previous false alarms.

The fact that she could be completely fine fighting Voldemort's armies but not fine having a child was -- well, he supposed it was understandable. She was used to that, used to killing people who were trying to kill her -- but having a baby was a completely alien concept to her.

"--contractions?" From the pamphlet that he'd read over from the healers more times than he could count on both hands (but enough that the edges of the paper had started to become very worn) that meant that she was going to be going into labour, which meant she was actually going to be having their baby soon.

Another baby. At least he'd be -- well, practiced -- for this one. He'd know what to do, and he probably wouldn't get peed on again. That had been fun. This was all new for Bianca, though, and he had to give her a break for that.

"So, uh. We should probably get your bag of stuff and head to St. Mungo's." Because he didn't want her to have to deliver the baby -- That would be too much even for him and he didn't want to even think about that. He didn't bother to ask if she was sure or not - he was pretty sure that would get him punched.
