Gabrielle!
It was hard as all fuck to lead a double life.

But, Dimitri was good at it. He hated it, but he was good at it. Finally finding some time to rejoin the wizarding world on a social aspect, the thoughts of keeping his muggle life a secret had really overwhelmed him. It was for Gabrielle's own safety, of course, but the fact remained that he was lying to his friends and the people he cared about about the woman he cared for most in the world. Dimitri had come to the conclusion a long time ago that Gabrielle didn't need to know about his job, or his abilities, because...well, she loved him, right? Why should he put her in danger---and he knew other people did it, he knew that other people had wives and went out into the field every day, but when you could keep them out of harms way, then--why not?

Maybe one day. But not now. There was a war raging, and there was no need for any more trouble than it was worth. Because seriously? Was it his fault he was good at his job? No, thank you very much. Maybe the criminals and death eaters just sucked at hiding from him, ever think of that?

Sometimes he really did feel like a superhero, but on occasions like this, when he was sitting home and helping Gabrielle grade some pop quizzes. Felt like he'd hung up his cape in a secret compartment in the back of the closet.

"You have some very stupid students," he said, x'ing out a few more wrong answers.

"Excuuuuse me, I would like to remind you that they are not my students. Because, you see, my students would not be stupid at all! My students would be brilliant because they would have a teacher who actually taught them things instead of a teacher who basically just...sits there and eats cookies all day." She frowned a bit as she pushed back her hair, tapping her red pen against the test that was infront of her before she placed it down and flipped through the answers she had already marked. She had been subbing for for a woman who was on maternity leave until next month, and had been trying to go over one of her previous lessons...which was basically letting the kid's read and then put the book down and leave, and not go over anything. She had been itching to change things and do her own thing but that could get her in so much trouble.

"I went over all of this, though! Why is there so much red?" Her nose scrunched as she clucked her tongue before she leaned over the table to see what he was doing, since he had moved onto a new test. "Soooo, how's Mr.Alberko do?"

He sent an exaggerated frown toward the exam, making sure the 50% on the top of the page was nice and thick, and encircled with three angry loops. Really now. Really. You barely had to read the back cover of the book to know these answers! Of course, Dimitri had Gabrielle's answer sheet to help him through this, but that was clearly beside the point.

"He's only half dumb," Dimitri said, letting out a breath and putting the test onto the pile of other graded ones. He would really hate to be a teacher, he thought. Because really, you've got to be so optimistic and patient; he would not have been able to deal if his students didn't get the topic the first time they were over it. The hitwizards he trained knew this quite well.

He leaned back into the chair, pushing it far enough to lift the front two legs off the floor, "We should order dinner."

Gabrielle leaned forward and pressed her forehead against the table. "I am so sick of any number below 60..." Her voice was muffled because of how close her mouth was to the table. They were taking a test on 'To Kill a Mockingbird', and she wasn't sure how they didn't know who Scout and Atticus were. Sighing, she lifed up her head and folded her arms on the table, pressing her chin against them as she stared at her husband. "Mmmmmm, yeah I'm starving. And I have a headache from looking at how many people thought that Boo was a ghost." Her cheeks puffed out as she leaned back in her chair, placing her hands above her head, twisting her mouth over to the side. "But what to have...I dunno what I'm in the mood for."

She looked deep in thought before she rose to her feet and moved over to one of the cabinets in thier kitchen, standing on her toes to grab a whole collection of papers, bringing them back to the paper, dropping them down onto the table as she took a seat. "Take out menus." Her hands began to move around to gather all of the tests, placing them off to the side in two seperate piles before she turned towards him. "I know I don't want Italian so anything that isn't that would be fantastic." Giving him a smile, she grabbed one and leaned back, flipping it open to look at the Chinese menu, seeing if anything stood out to her.

"Chiiiiiiiiineeeeeeeese," Dimitri let out, dropping the chair back to the ground. Oh, yes, yes, Chinese was definitely the answer to their problems. He would even put in the order, and Gabrielle knew how much he hated calling the place. He could never understand them! She had no problems, but Dimitri was sure it was only because she was a very attractive woman and they knew they should be nice to her so she would go and pick it up. Maybe without her husband.

"And," he said, coming up behind Gabrielle, putting his hands on either side of her to trap her against the cabinet. "And we can take a romantic stroll down to the place and I can glare at the cashier who's always flirting with you. You know that's one of my favorite pastimes."

It didn't help that the cashier thought he was a warlock. It was not Dimitri's fault that the guy's hair happened to turn blue whilst he was checking out Gabrielle. Not at all.

A soft laugh escaped from between her tiers as she grabbed all of the menu's and rose back up to her feet. "Well then, Chinese it is!" It was a good thing that he knew what he wanted, because Gab was very indecicive when it came to what they were going to have for dinner. Even when she was making food, she'd start out with it being one thing and then it would change into something different midway through. Like, if she was cooking chicken for Chicken Cutlets, she'd decide that she wanted Chicken Parm instead and would add sauce and cheese. It was always like a little surprise, and Dimitri could never really ask what was for dinner because if she gave him an answer it'd wind up being something different later on 9/10 of the time.

She stood on her toes to place the menu's away, standing back to her normal height when she heard his voice get closer to her. Gab grinned as sheleaned back against him, turning her head as one of her hands were placed over his own on the counter while the other one rose so she could touch the side of his face. "My knight in shining armor." Leaning up, she kissed his cheek and then pulled away again. "But you know, maybe I should lean over the counter a little, and then he'd give us a discount." She grinned up at him, waiting to see what his reaction would be.

Of course his initial reaction was to blanch, but then Dimitri grinned smugly, flicking her nose back and forth lightly.

"That could work, but then I'd have to kill him. And then we wouldn't get our food," he started, and then his expression quickly changed, as if a light had gone off, "Unless, of course, we wait until he gives us the food and then he asks for you number, and then I strike."

Dimitri looked thoughtful about their plan of action for a moment, as if actually considering using his wife's good looks for free food (Merlin knew that he'd done it himself when he was single---), but then shook his head greatly.

"Ugh---you should be glad I'm a decent bloke, willing to pay for food and all."

Her mouth shifted over to the side as her eyes squinted, looking like she was also deep in thought about the plan, but she wasn't as good about keeping a straight face as he was, and had to keep trying not to smile. It was a good thing that he shook his head because she had already broke out into a huge grin, giving another short and quiet laugh. "Oh, you are too good to me. Besides, one free meal wouldn't be worth you going to jail for manslaughter. Two or three? Maybe." Before he could react, she leaned in to give him a kiss, smirking against his mouth before she pulled away.

"So, we're doing this the usual way, right? There will be no killing, maiming, or torturing the cashier even if he does glance in my direction?" Gab didn't like to think that he was 'checking her out' since she was far too modest to think that she was that good looking. She knew she was pretty but she'd never thought of herself as a knockout or anything. Sometimes she just thought Dimitri was just being protective, which she loved because it let her know he cared enough to notice if other men were looking at her. But in her mind they were just being friendly!

And...they were just noticing the shirt she was wearing that day when thier eyes were not focused on her face. Yeah, that had to be it. Her shirt. Hah.
