Valentine's Day Gala!

Being the defending champs gave the members of the Caerphilly Catapults many obligations, like being the MC's of this rather lavish evening...or, rather, the boys had volunteered Carys to do all the talking as they stood and looked cute in their suits. It was a job that she didn't particularly mind, she'd been in the spotlight all her life, but she grew bored of introducing generous donors and the big-wigs of the league. Carys knew about all the politics that went on behind the scenes, so she put on a good face, but was definitely not shy about voicing her opinion on certain matters.

"Oh, absolutely," she said to the head of the refereeing committee, "But when you've got one ref on the offensive side, and the foul's committed on the far end of the defense's area....I'm just saying, we should probably be taking advantage of--oh, what's it called?" Carys winked at the man, and at the reporter listening in, "--magic?"

She laughed when he huffed and excused himself, and the reporter shook her hand for the great sound bit. Carys gave a little twirl (her dress had too many ruffles not to twirl), and leaned over the counter to order another drink. The sound of something like an amused snort made her turn her head, and she raised her eyebrows,

"Something funny?"

Mira!

This time last year Seth was up on a stage being auctioned off to the highest bidder, while it was fun at the time, he was very glad that this year he came with his date, and would be leaving with the same date.

And no, he wasn't worried at all about what other people might or might not being saying, as he showed up with a girl he's never mentioned or hasn't been see with before. Not that he was ashamed but hell if he was going to voluntarily drag Mira into the shit he had to deal with daily.

But as it was a Valentine's Gala, he wasn't going to show up alone, and there was certainly no one else he'd rather go with. He was looking rather dashing in his suit, making sure he didn't venture too far from his date.

"So what do you think? Is it all that you imagined it would be?" Seth asked smirking handing Mira a glass of champagne. "This event right here will turn out enough gossip to fill three whole Tattlers."

Any nerves Mira had about attending this high-profile event she made sure to leave at the door. This was an important night, for her and Seth together, so there was no room for petty emotions like intimidation. Tonight was about looking amazing, smiling brightly for the photographers and staying close to her date. Plus she had to reassure Seth that she could handle this type of thing. Which she could; Mira had no problem letting out her inner diva on a daily basis.

So with a steady hand, she took her champagne flute from Seth and smiled. "And more!" Mira responded, her sweetly sarcastic tone very obvious. Blinking rapidly, she dipped her chin low for a moment before shaking it off with a laugh. It was comforting that at this point, she was comfortable enough with Seth to joke around. And actually, she was quite impressed that he was staying dutifully faithful to her despite.... well, the fact that she blatantly refused to have sex with him yet.

But that was another thing entirely.

"You know, I have been to some Ministry events before," Mira spoke again, her brows going high as she took a sip from her drink.

Seth didn't even bother trying to hide rolling his eyes. "Two completely different ordeals. No one does scandalous like pro-quidditch players. Trust me, I know." he says with a smirk.

He wraped his arm around her waist and faced her. He really just can't get over just looking at her, and tries very hard not to remember just how long its been since he's had sex. The dress Mira is wearing is certainly not helping at all. Perhaps later, he could help her out of said dress. He let that train of thought wonder for a bit before he pulled himself back to reality.

His smirk shifted into a small smile, as he decides that standing around talking about the event isn't at all what he wants to do with his time. He leaned in close, whispering a quiet "Dance with me?" in her ear, as if it was a very important secret.

Her lips pulled back as she tried to suppress her blush. He was too much, making it very hard for Mira to play it cool, sometimes. Seth met her as this very in control, strong-willed woman (or at least in her opinion). She couldn't just completely cave in because he was incredibly good with her. And not to mention handsome. And romantic--- all inspite of the fact that she was effectively sex blocking him.

Merlin knew if it was her, she probably would have a very short fuse by now. But she didn't! She was enjoying this, them and she didn't want to do anything that would mess it up. That included sex. Plus, there was no harm in being absolutely sure on Seth's intentions. Just in case any of his old habits felt like not being dead.

Smiling, Mira turned to put her glass down on the tray of a passing by waiter. Hmmm, yum. With her hands free, she was able to reach up put them on either sides of his face. Taking the time, she kissed a short, sensuous kiss, leaving little to the imagination concerning how attracted she was to him.

Breaking away suddenly, her hands dropped to his. She loved dancing. With a wry smile on her face, Mira tugged Seth to the dance floor.

"You tease." Seth said playfully as he let her pull him out to the dance floor. Once they made their way through the crowd, he stopped short and spun her back into his arms. "Now, its only proper that I lead." he said falling into beat with the music. "My mother will tell you that she at least tried to raise me a proper gentleman."

He twirled her once more. "So." he said casually. "I have something for you, and I'm wondering if I should give it to you now, since we are at a Valentine event or, if I should make you wait, all the while dropping subtle hints that give nothing away at all." He dipped her, giving her a kiss before pulling her back up.

"Any thoughts on this troubling dilemma?"

"It's what I do best," she mused, throwing a glance back over her shoulder as they walked. Really, what did he expect? Mira had to ensure that things stayed interesting somehow. This was just one of her many tactics; dating a high-profile quidditch player was hard work.

Mira let Seth take the lead, having no problem shifting the power to him for the time being. Moving in close to him, she let out a light sigh, her grip on him tightening slightly. Mmmm, Seth smelled good. And warm, she felt pleasantly warm within his grasp.

"Oh?" Mira snapped out of her slight daze to look up at Seth. He brought something, here? Thinking for a moment, she pondered what would be more fun. Obviously receiving a gift immediately had its upside. And while she usually wasn't a huge fan of surprises, something now made her want to get him to whisper in her ear all night more than opening a present.

She pursed her lips together in an mock-contemplating manner, despite already knowing what she wanted. "I think," Mira began, speaking as one of her arms slipped to rest around his next. "I want to hear you tell me about it all night."

"Oh really? Hmm, well let me think then." he said humming softly as he made a show of thinking. He gave up a moment ago on the formal waltz type dance he was leading her in, settling for a much simpler swaying. Which had its own perks, as he could hold her much closer.

"Well. It took me forever to find." Seth said quietly, brushing a piece of hair out of her face and tucking behind her ear, letting his hand trail down her neck. "But they match, so it was worth every second looking."

Seth smiled lazily, wondering if she would catch the implication that there was more than one gift. He touched his forehead to hers. "And while it is no where as exquisite as you are, I believe it would qualify as beautiful. Do you want me to go on? Because I can, or" he reached into his pocket. "I can give it to you and spend the rest of the night talking about other things. Like how I really feel about you in that dress, or all the possible things we could go do once we decide that this Gala is no longer fun."
