CHRISTMAS PARTY [BACKDATED TO 23RD]

After making a quick stop to check on the children upstairs (Anthony and Elijah looked so precious), Mackenzie continued on her normal perimeter around the party. Ensuring there was enough food and drink for everyone was extremely important, as well as making sure that no-one was left standing by themselves too long. That would hardly promote good review upon later reminiscing among their guests. But luckily, neither of these issues had seem to come up yet, leaving her with little host responsibilities.

So that left Mackenzie practically purring, as she had been for most of the night. The party could not be going better. The house looked beautiful thanks to her near-obsessive decorating, Christmas spirit was in full swing, and everyone looked like they were truly enjoying themselves. Nothing could go wrong, absolutely nothing, making Mackenzie feel her happiest in what seemed like a very long time. This had been a very good idea! Maybe if things continued like this, she could convince Sebastian to make this their annual holiday tradition...

Couldn't be too careful, though. Just for good measure, Mackenzie picked a few of her husband's favorite hors d'oeuvres as they passed by above, placing them on a plate. Finding him was easy; ever since she had gotten back, Sebastian had replaced her shadow. Not in a bad or stifling way, but in more of a supporting kind of way. She knew he was worried.

"I have a present for you," she smiled, producing the plate with one hand as the other wrapped around his open arm.

Being out in public was so great. Ralph had forgotten how awesome it was just to be able to... go to a party and not have to worry about someone stabbing him in the back. Literally. Actually, he was surprised Walden hadn't attempted that, now that he thought about it. Well, that chance was lost, so luckily neither of them would be able to find out the outcome of.

Anyway, Ralph couldn't be happier. He was a sociable person at heart, making this party more than worthwhile; half the people here were still under the impression that he had died two years ago in a house fire, so that left a lot of room for catching up. Well, at least with the non-Order members in attendance. Ralph had just been in the middle of talking about his studies at University with Sebastian when he felt some wrap their hands around him behind his back.

Ralph knew who he hoped that would be.

A laugh escaped him as he shook his head, sending an apologetic look to Sebastian (who in turn waved Ralph off while walking away) before carefully turning his full attention to Miranda.

He took her hands in his, pulling them close to his face. "You better make this quick, I'm in high demand tonight," Ralph spoke in a joking manner, his lips pulling to create a wide smile.

Miranda let out a string of giggles, feeling like a school girl and a grown woman all at once. Ralph's teasing reminded her of their flirty corridor time at Hogwarts, and as he kissed her hands she caught sight of her engagement woman and everything seemed to fall in place. They were married, getting married is what everyone else thought---it was as if they'd finally finished the race. They'd reached the goal of the long, twisting and ridiculously hard journey their relationship had been taken on. And they'd won! They were together and stupidly happy about it.

She hoped this feeling never faded. Greta called it the honeymoon phase of the marriage, but Miranda decided that since they technically never went on a honeymoon, they would be allowed to live in his mindset for as long as they could and desired. Miranda stepped closer to Ralph and grinned up at him. So handsome, her husband was.

"Don't they know that I've staked my claim in Frobisher stock?" she said in an amused tone, eyebrows going high. Miranda would like to see someone try to take Ralph out of her grasp once she had a hold of him. Her face softened, "Are you having a good time?"
