Well, was it his fault that he didn't know how to go about this sort of thing with girls? He'd been planning to strike up the nerves to tell her what was going on with him, what the problem was with him supporting his mother the way he had quietly been doing -- but he was quickly losing steam. He frowned again.
"You don't trust me either, Bianca. Or at least, you don't trust me to be ready for anything before what you deem is 'too late'. I'd love to write you out a schedule for how the rest of our lives are going to go, but I can't do that." Even if sometimes he wanted to. She was doing a pretty good job of pushing him away right now, though, and he didn't have the energy to stop it right now.
"Right, sorry. I'm going to go back to the party now, and I'll make sure and inform you of when I'm ready to talk so that you can stop pushing me away. Sound good?"
