Rafe!
With a pointed look, Erin pushed in the quarters, pressed colors, and,

"VoilĂ ." Erin smiled though, because her own mother said that it wasn't real laundry, having buttons to push that told you what to do. But at the end of the day, her clothes were clean and they smelled nice, so, really? Erin didn't find a problem with it. "I suppose if you can't read, this would be a problem, but I think you're safe."

She gestured to Rafe's machine, knowing that all this muggle stuff may be a bit overwhelming (the pinball machine in the corner was making lots and lots of noise and flashing lights), but, well, she'd offered. And if she could teach a guy to do his own laundry (Will was such a pain, but he was getting there. Slowly.), then she'd done her good deed for the day. Adding onto the fact that doing laundry by herself was never much fun, especially when she didn't have a book or anything.

...augh, seriously. Laundry shouldn't be the highlight of her week. She was almost twenty-one, that was just sad, right? Merlin's beard.

"Go on, I promise it won't explode."

Bugger. And. Damn.

It all seemed to happen instantaneously - Erin's shout of protest, his rise and startled swear when the water hit his shins, Erin making a grab for...he didn't know what she was grabbing for but she ended up with a hold on his arm, and Erin slipping free as not even his Quidditch-perfected reflexes were quick enough to catch her. Rafe blinked a couple times in response to brief chaos and he saw that Erin was now sprawled on the wet floor though he wasn't entirely sure how she ended up there.

Rafe crouched down, still clutching the dirty shirt and laughing lightly under his breath. "All right, there?" he asked, tone mingled with amusement and concern. He tossed the shirt over a shoulder and reached out to her with both hands. "Looked like you hit your head."

Erin took his hands and helped pull herself up. Her soaking, dizzy self, and it wasn't long after she was upright that her head started spinning. Oh, right. Head--hit floor. Hard. Erin's eyes fluttered a few times as she tried to get the room to stop spinning, but it failed and she dropped her forehead to Rafe's chest.

Just to pull it back quickly because she soon realized (and felt) that he had no shirt on. And. Touching with no shirt on---not good. Well. Good, but not good for now. Because. Head. Or. Well. other---things. Laudromat! They were in a laundromat, and such touching should not be allowed. Even if it was only forehead to chest touching. Which wasn't really bad touching---

Rambling.

"Yep. Hit my head," she said with a nod, which wasn't a good idea, but Erin squinted and looked up at Rafe, again, only noticing that they were really close because she could see the goosebumps the cold of the water had created. Oh. "Your fault, you need to fix it."

Rafe's head tilted to watch her quizzically as she leaned into him only to immediately pull away. He frowned in concern when she blanched after nodding her head. Laundry was certainly the least of her problems at the moment.

"Yeah, I'll get it. You should sit," Rafe said with gentle firmness as he draped a bare arm around her shoulders and slowly led Erin the couple steps to an empty chairs.

Once she was seated and he was certain she was not going to dump onto the floor anymore, he returned to the washer and knelt down with a little sigh. He gathered the wet and soapy clothes to toss them back into the machine. Snatching the single remaining dry shirt off his shoulder, he mopped up the water on the floor the best he could before adding it to the wash. The door was then snapped shut and he stood up to reach for the small control panel.

Oh, bollocks.

"What buttons do I press again?" he asked, brows furrowing.

Ungh he was so cute.

Of course Erin had known this, he had been rather cute at Hogwarts, but ungh. That was the only word to describe what she was witnessing, because quidditch had filled out Rafe nicely. Merlin's flippin' beard he was gorgeous. Just. His arm around her shoulders, she could feel the muscles there and while he was mopping up the water she saw the muscles of his back there and then he was just standing there and God help her but the thoughts running through her mind would make a blind man see.

Or whatever the saying was, she couldn't think.

What a bum. Honestly, what a bum on this man, and Erin was quite sure she hadn't honestly checked out someone in a long time, and she thanked her near concussion for getting rid of any filter she might have had before that kept her from fully appreciating Rafe Kirke in all his manly glory.

"You're feckin' gorgeous, you know?" she blurted, her thick Scottish accent coming into play. Merlin, being in London really knocked it out of you----Erin supposed that a good knock to the head brought back your roots quite nicely and...oh. Did she really just---ugh, she was now wishing that the filter was back in place and shut with a steel lock whose key was thrown into the middle of the ocean.

Tension suddenly ran up Rafe's spine and renewed the goose flesh on his lower arms. Had she just...? In that accent? His hand dropped limply to the top of the washer it'd been hovering over with a clang.

How bloody hard had she hit her head?

Rafe's palm brushed across the cool metal beneath it as he swiveled to get a good look at Erin and Merlin did she look pitiful - fetching as usual, but pitiful. It was difficult to not smirk so a flash of one did slip through. "Floor knock some Kiltie into you?" he asked, ignoring the compliment, for the moment.

Erin squirmed lightly in her soaked clothes. She should probably use her wand, but with the headache that was beginning to throb she'd probably end up banishing all her clothing away. Which would not be much of a problem if they weren't in a laundromat. Well. She didn't really plan on sleeping with Rafe any time soon (because this was a guy you went on a few dates with first. Sheesh. Gosh, didn't you know anything?

"Aye, Glasgow born 'n bred," she said, straightening up a bit. Her flat was in Glasgow, with the ministry in London and her charms committee taking her way out of the area, she really wasn't home anymore unless it was to sleep and feed Puff.

Erin wrinkled her nose, eyes focusing on Rafe's because the tug of sexual tension that was building and building because now he was facing her and again, she felt herself flush and Lordy lord, she needed that filter back in place.

"Something wrong with that?"

Rafe knew that. Well, he was pretty sure he'd known that, but he'd never really heard her Scottish drawl outside a few snatches that had slipped through here and there back in school - usually when she was angry or tipsy, or both. It was endearing, really. It reminded him of his dad who neared unintelligible at times. Not that he'd want to snog his dad, but he was definitely considering a good snog with Erin right now.

And bugger. He really had to stop thinking.

Leaning back against the machine, Rafe crossed his arms over his chest and gave her half of a confident grin. "Only if you try to put me in a bloody skirt."

He wanted to snog her, yes, but...he also really didn't want it to be awkward afterward. They had history and well, it was a little rocky to say the least. Not to mention he had no intention of shagging her. He had Quidditch practice in the morning, after all.

Erin put her elbow on the side of the chair, face in her hands as she gently rapped her cheek with her fingers. He was aiming to put her in a coma, wasn't he? See---she wasn't a very good drunk. She could hold her own, but her boys would tell you that she definitely let her self loose and apparently having a near concussion had the same affects. So while she was a naturally flirty person, she definitely was able to hold back.

"Well, it's not like you'd look bad. I have a thing for men in kilts," she said, dropping her hand and smirking. Well, at least that was true, kilts made things---well---oy, easier, and she'd always thought Scottish men were so handsome when---well.

Yes, she needed to shut up, he was going to run away screaming that she was a crazy woman.

Rafe's face scrunched as his large hand raised to clap the back of his neck. "Yeah," he started uneasily, "Mum got us into kilts--wool kilts one Christmas since my dad's Scottish and all, but--" He shook his head with a mildly amused sigh. "I don't think I'll do that again."

His hand suddenly moved to absently scratch at his chest as his shoulders gave a little shudder. "Makes me itchy just thinking about it."

Realizing that he was just rambling and that they both were just staring dumbly at each other, Rafe cleared his throat and abruptly turned back to the washing machine.

"So, these buttons..." His voice trailed off there. Rafe wasn't entirely sure why he was so eager to switch topics, but it was probably because he didn't really want to snog Erin right now. Well, okay. He did want to snog her (a lot), but not in a bloody laundromat. Honestly. There should at least be a couch involved.

Erin let out a long breath through her nose, scrunching it lightly as he turned around. Well, fine. Her lack of filter was only making things awkward, so she might as well just shut up and finish his laundry. Standing and realizing she wasn't as woozy as she thought (oh, hell, she was saying all that stuff on her own, bleh), Erin crossed and smirked up greatly at Rafe.

"This one's for colors," she said, pointing to the one that read 'colors' and Erin leaned across the top of the washer to push it for him. Maybe this was why Devon still did his laundry, Rafe simply couldn't. Which was a lie, but he was too nice to force laundry on his sister, so maybe it was---well. She didn't know. Maybe he was just so nice that people offered to do it for him.

Or maybe he was just a silly boy who didn't know how to do his laundry. Erin turned around and leaned back against the washer which was now running behind her, half a grin on her face.

"Just don't open the door this time."

Rafe was mildly shocked when she stood up and he nearly protested when he heard her do so, but when he glance over his shoulder and saw that she wasn't wobbly like before he let it go. He watched her push the buttons but Rafe didn't actually look at the buttons as he murmured his "Mmmhmm". He was too distracted by...her smile, and her hair, and--oh he had to stop staring.

A small nervous smile spread on Rafe's face with a chuckle as he adverted his eyes downwards. "Yeah. I think I can manage that," he said with a slow nod. "But--" He sneaked another look at her.

Oy. Fuck it.

"You ever heard of people snogging in a laundromat before?"

Finally. No, no not finally, because she didn't come here for a snog, that was actually the thing she'd told herself to avoid thinking about. Because girls who wanted to go out with Rafe Kirke wanted one thing, and Erin didn't want to be one of those girls, because. She wasn't. She knew him, she liked him, she didn't think about dating him, but she had, and---

Erin smiled up at Rafe, because really, he was a lot taller than her, but then again most guys were. She looked him up and down a moment, as if truly contemplating, wondering if this was the right thing to do. Seriously? She'd only been flinging compliments at him for the past ten minutes.

"Well," Erin said with a sigh, as if it were a chore. Her fingers looped through the hoops of his jeans, "You are half naked already."
