Jen had gotten dressed and put on makeup and gone downstairs. She felt like death and had just gotten done with Tobias and Estella. That was...fun to say the least. She never wanted to be pregnant again if that was how she was going to be treated. She still hadn't quite decided if she wanted to keep the baby or not. She took a deep breath and tried to calm down. At least she didn't feel like she was going to throw up. She barely remembered Chester.

That night was such a haze. Firewhiskey and sex in a bathroom. It had been fun yeah but it was bugging her as she tried to remember if they used a condo or not. She paced the floor and decided to pour herself a glass of cranberry juice. She sat down after she finished pouring up and tapped her foot impaitently as she waited for Chester to show up.

She was lost in her thoughts and had a small frown on her face.

Honestly, at first, Chester hadn't had a clue what this woman was talking about. New Year's was such a crazy night he was surprised he remembered any of it. The first thing he remembered was the drunken bathroom sex. That was pretty amazing, but it took him much longer to remember exactly who it was with.

He really had no idea who this Jen Gibbon was, and it only wondered for half a second if she was related to Tobias. But the thing that really caught his interest was that she was apparently friends with Bess. Chester couldn't keep the smirk off his face as he walked down the street. Wouldn't this just make Bess' skin crawl. He'd knocked up her friend and now was going to do right by her. It would make him look good to the courts and he could play up the 'I was such an ass back then and I've learned from my mistakes and regret them" with this. It was almost to perfect really.

He walked into her store and put on his best, 'I'm concerned and this is serious' face. "Jen?" he said softly when she didn't look up. "Are you feeling okay? Well besides the obvious... sorry that was an awful question."

"Worried," she said softly. Her eyes were downcast as she spoke. "I've been ill all morning. This is the first time I've not thrown up in a thirty minute period." She let out a sigh and let her blue eyes creep up and look at Chester. Well, at least he was good looking. She wasn't sure what to say. She waited for Chester to speak and squirmed a little bit.

The face was believable and Jen thought to herself maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. "I'm just not sure what to say really. So many things are running through my head at the moment and I can't form the words to say what I'm feeling." She felt like a moron each time she spoke. She took a sip of juice. This was all so crazy.

"Well," Chester started sitting down next in the chair next to Jen's, "It isn't exactly ideal, but I think we can work this out. I'm not going to walk away from this, from you. I can't..." Chester paused and made his voice hitch for dramatic effect. He was going to play this for all it was worth.

"I know you know that's what I did to Bess, and it was awful of me and there isn't a day I don't regret it. But I know better now. So I want you know I'm not going to do that to you." It was all Chester could do to keep a straight face during all of this. He stared at the floor for a few seconds hoping to look like he was deep in thought.

"I'll take care of you and the baby and be there every step of the way if you wanted. Of course you don't have to decide right this second."

She looked at him and her eyes filled with tears. Her emotions were already starting to get the better of her. "I just don't know. I don't want to decide anything just yet. Like my sister said...I don't want to jump into a marriage when I don't even know the person. I don't want a loveless marriage." The concern made her emotional. She was glad that he wasn't going to do what he did to Bess but she didn't know how to trust men anymore.

A few tears fell off her face. Unlike Chester she truly was upset and concerned but she couldn't tell the lie. He was too good at it. "I just want everything to work out." Her breath hitched once and she calmed down, keeping her emotions in check for now.

"Hey now," he said softly brushing a tear off her cheek with his thumb, "Don't cry. We can work this out. I don't want you in a loveless marriage either. I won't force you to anything you don't want to." he got up and and knelt down in front of her taking her hand in his.

"Just take a deep breath. I know its a little late for this but lets just slow down and not worry about all the details right now. Just start with a date. Then we can spend time to get to know each other and see if we'll even get along." he put his best charming smile on his face looking up at her.

"Yeah that sounds like the best way to go." She looked down at him and leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Something will be figured out." She took a deep breath. "A date. Yeah, let's do that." She combed a hand through her hair and smiled weakly. She squirmed with his eyes on her.

"I think it's a good sign that we're at least talking like civil humans at the moment." Everything was going to be okay, Jen just had a feeling. Her lips pursed for a moment and she held her hand up and raced to the bathroom.
