It had been another long, boring day at work, and Evan was looking forward to going home, pouring himself a drink, and sit down on his own couch and just relax. He hadn’t been as stressed out as he was a few months ago, so his mood had improved since then, but that didn’t mean he still didn’t come home feeling just as miserable after a long day of work. It wasn’t that he didn’t like what he did, because he was good at it, and it came easily to him, but it was just who he had to translate for that made him irritable. He had been sitting in one room for about 6 hours, translating Russian to English and vice versa, so his neck and shoulders were stiff. Nothing a shot or two or six of fire whiskey couldn’t fix.
Opening up his door, Evan let out a long sigh as he walked through the threshold, greeting the large female dog that greeted him. “Unten, Aegis…” The dog obeyed, and her master reached down to scratch behind her ear, patting his hand against the side of his leg, instructing her to follow. She did, and also stopped as he did, as those mix-matched orbs gazed down at the brunette who was asleep on his couch.
Suddenly, his bad day at work didn’t really matter anymore. It was still something he didn’t understand, how his entire mood could change just by looking at her. He didn’t really understand love, since it was still such a new thing for him. He thought he had been in love once before…a reason he had put off feeling that way again for such a long time, but that was just…an infatuation. This though, how Cecilia made him felt; it was completely different.
Aegis stepped closer to the sleeping girl, nudging her gently with her nose, causing her to stir. Evan leaned against the doorframe, watching as she opened her eyes, tilting his head as he looked over at her. “Bored, love?” He lifted a brow, though it was obvious he was amused.
