hannah & mark ([info]woodenfans) wrote in [info]valesco,
It was known, by very few people in St. Mungo's, that Mark Wood was a bit of a...there wasn't a better word for it, nerd. He read a lot of books, of course; his home library nearly wrapped around his office from floor to ceiling, the personification of a Ravenclaw's dream (and also added to people's surprise when they found out he was a Gryffindor). But the kind of books that tipped the scale from intellectual to nerd were those of the animated kind.

Well, not literally animated, like the comic books wizarding children (and...adults!) read, but the illustrated kind of books. Oliver had discovered his collection a few weeks ago and had been prying for information ever since. Mark was glad to finally have something to bond with his son over, and to be able to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes. He and Healer Smethwyck often got into conversations about comics in the corridors, but their conversations were often cut short by patients needing assistance or...teasing from the other healers.

Mark straightened up a bit at Hannah's compliments and his face slid into a quick smile. They really were the Fantastic Four, super powers or not.

"I think I'm enjoying the fact that I don't know where your hands may be." Mark just barely refrained from leering at his wife, but holy hell, every curve was right there for his eyes to appreciate. They had really nailed it, this year. To make his costume look like the comic, he had performed a stretching jinx on his left arm (definitely didn't want to mess with his wand arm), so it hung nearly to the floor. It was a strange sensation, but it made for fun when poking people in the back.

...or wrapping his arm around his wife. Mark laughed as his hand nearly circled Hannah's waist, and he shrugged, "Andre and I--we think alike. Makes for a good healer."
