DIAGON ALLEY, EARTHQUAKE
"And you know what? There is not a sale worth going out in this heat, I'm serious!"

Javier grinned, putting up his hands in a defensive manner, "I'm sorry, but I don't need a pair of robes that badly, have you seen those temperatures? I'm surprised Fortescue's is still standing, would've thought they'd have melted awaaaaaay----whoa, what is---"

He gripped onto the desk, eyes widening as he rumbled and rolled away because the fucking building was shaking! Javier let out numerous words that were not politically correct to say on the wireless, and toppled out of his chair, busting his head on the floor. Strings of angry Spanish soared out of his mouth as he crawled up to his knees, and Javier grabbed the microphone.

Through the glass he saw that the other members of his staff were looking like they'd just been shot, and it took Javier a few good seconds to realize what the fuck happened, as another rumbling, rolling coursed through the studio. Javier dropped to the ground, covering his head with his hand as he shouted angrily into the microphone:

"ARE WE EXPERIENCING A FUCKING EARTHQUAKE IN DIAGON ALLEY?"

He'd been on his way home from work - he'd finally gotten the paperwork through to unhook his floor and apparation charms in a week when they headed to Italy with the children so things would settle down and they'd be safe.

So much for that.

Nick took cover down the nearest alleyway, trying to cover his head and ignore the persistent throb of a newly opened cut on his jaw. He furrowed his brows and glared down his nose at the other man as he spotted him and then the little girl. She looked extremely terrified, honestly, and this guy definitely didn't look like her daddy.

"Well, you're right about her being fine." He let his hand slip into his robes, ready to grab his hand whenever he needed it.

Chester fought the urge to scowl as he looked over his shoulder at the man that just approached them. "Just offering her some assistance." he said as he stood facing the man keeping a close eye on him. He didn't miss the fact that he was reaching into his robes, probably for his wand. "And I'm usually right about these sort of things as well."

the girl took this as he chance to get away. She was grateful that other man had shown up, she was, but she wasn't about to stick around to find out what was going to happen between the two. Chester looked behind him when he heard her running away. Great. He glanced down at the bags she had left behind. Seventh year books... seventeen tops. He let out a sigh.

"Now look what you've done. You've scared off my friend. How do you propose I spend my afternoon now?" He wiped the blood that was dripping from his hair off the back of his neck, ignoring the massive headache that was forming. Right now he was more annoyed than anything. Why did he have to show up and ruin his fun.

"Well, I'd say that you'll probably end up spending your afternoon the same way that you usually do - wanking alone in your squalid apartment." Nick narrowed his gaze - he didn't have much patience for people who were going to molest girls in the middle of a disaster.

He didn't move his wand from his pocket yet, but he also didn't relax. He could feel animosity crawling off the other man like a hoarde of ants, and that meant that they were probably going to have issues with each other.

Great, just what he needed.

Chester chuckled humorlessly before shoving the man roughly up against the wall with his forearm pressed against his throat. He should of pulled his wand while he had the chance. "You know, I don't think I like you very much. It's not very nice to make such rude comments about people you hardly know."

Chester was not afraid of this man, and certainly was not afraid to get in this man's face either. "So I highly suggest you don't start fights you can't finish. You have no idea just who you're messing with here."

"You know, I've dealt with blast-ended Skrewts that looked better than you," he wasn't afraid of Chester either, if only because he was still stupidly angry with him and hyped up on the adrenaline of the earthquake.

Being slammed up against the wall wasn't something he was expecting, but he pushed all his body weight against Chester in order to try to free his wand-hand a few moments after he gathered his wits.

"I don't recall starting any fights, persay." After all, Chester had made the first physical move...

"Ah there you go with the insults again. I don't do very well with insults, no sense of humor you see. Well not one you would appreciate anyway."

Chester reached for his wand with his free hand, still keeping most of his weight behind his other arm that was holding Nick against the wall. Heh. He was trying to push off, well good for him. It was no fun when they didn't fight back.

"That's a terribly nasty cut you have there, let's see if I can help you out with that." he said shoving his wand onto the wound on Nick's face. He dragged his wand down his cut making it deeper and longer. "Damn, I never was any good at healing spells. Sorry. How about I just give you a matching one on the other side?"

That must of really gotten his adrenaline going because the man finally pushed Chester off of him. "Ah, so you do want to play!" Chester's eyes were lit with amusement as he sent a cutting hex towards the man. "Well come on then, let's play!"

He was about to make another smart comment about Chester when the other man dug his wand into his wound. He groaned and then gritted his teeth, refusing to scream despite the burning sensation, and then brought his wand out to counter the cutting hex.

He also ended up having to lunge out of the way which put him off-balance, but he sent a counter-curse hurtling toward Chester - just a disarming charm for now.

Just a disarming charm? How utterly predictable. "Come on now, is that all you've got?" Chester taunted as he let out a string of curses at the man, his reducto curse missing and hitting the wall behind him. Oh well, bricks flying everywhere worked just as well. "I just shoved my wand into your wound, almost blew you to bits, and who know what I've would of done with that girl... and all you have for me is a disarming charm? How utterly boring."

Chester smirked at Nick, enjoying goading him. He sent another cutting spell at the man. "Bring out the big boy spells, giving me a challenge. It's no fun otherwise."

Fine. Chester wanted to play 'big boys' and fight with things that cut and hurt, that was just fine with Nick. It had been years since he'd had a proper brawl with anyone but his parents, really -- and that mugger, but that had been a rather unfair fight. Nick growled, narrowly missing the falling bricks and wincing when one caught him particularly hard on the leg.

At least it wasn't his wand arm. He sent a cutting charm back in Chester's direction and then a diffindo above his head with the bricks - hopefully one would ... break his damned arm or something like that. Nick wanted the other man to make sure he understood that he wasn't going to win this easily.

Nick's cutting charm nicked the sides of Chester's robes as he tried to move out of the way of his spell. Finally. Something challenging. Only he didn't notice the blasting curse Nick sent until the bricks were falling down over his head. He threw his arms over his head trying to protect it from even more damage when a large piece of the wall hit his arm resulting in a sickening crack, then another brick catching his shoulder.

"Mother Fucker" Chester hissed out in pain as he took a look at his arm that was sticking out at odd angle. His fucking wand arm. The arm with his fucking dark mark. Which meant he couldn't get that healed at Mungo's. Fuck he couldn't go to Mungo's at all now because they sure as hell weren't going to look at his head wound and just let his arm be.

He quickly snatched his wand that he dropped off the ground with his right hand and sent a Conjunctivitis Curse at the man. He really couldn't perform it just right with his right hand, but he really didn't care if he fucked it up and blinded the man for life or not. It wasn't going to last much longer anyways. He set of a string of badly formed hexes at the man. He'd like to see him try to dodge them now. Fucker. Chester would teach him to meddle in his business.

Chester started to sway just as he was just about to send another set curses at the man. He pressed his palm to his forehead, trying to continue to ignore the headache that had been steadily growing worse. Maybe this just wasn't worth his time anymore. He turned away from the stumbling man and stalked off. "Have fun trying to find you're way through this mess." he called over his shoulder as he made his way through the rumble.
