James felt like he was in a zoo on display, the feeling of a million pairs of eyes sitting upon him. Dumbledore had set up the Hog's Head as an 'informational meeting' of sorts, for people they had all suggested, thought of, and found to be highly trustworthy. These people were going to be offered to put their lives on the line for their dying secret society, and James was surprised as hell that so many had actually shown up.

They were all idiots, he believed.

But then again, they must all think that he and the rest of the original Order (he felt so old, saying that) were out of their minds. To them, the Order was just a bunch of kids who got caught up in a big, ugly mess and were now crying for help. Which it felt like, sometimes, but James wasn't ready to admit that out loud. He wasn't sure if he ever could, which was why he was staying uncharacteristically silent through the whole engagement. He was slumped in one of the booths of the tavern, eyes following the mingling and quite chatter that was going on.

Drinks will be served! Dumbledore had ended jovially, and James had sighed. Part of him felt like a wretched person for getting more and more people involved into the war, but the other, very tired part of him was ready to hand over the reigns and let Voldemort get some new toys to play with.

[OOC] The tags are for those characters invited to join the Order. They do not mean that your character HAS TO join the Order. They could come to this meeting and decide against it, or not show up at all. If you do not tag this thread with your character, we are going to assume in-game that they did not show up to the meeting.

Original Order Members! Please tag the thread to get conversations and such going? It'll help oodles ♥

James straightened his shoulders a bit, finding himself surprised at the response. Huh. Well. That was going to take some getting used to---well, no. No it wouldn't, because when it came to the Order, James had always stepped up into the leadership positions. The only time he wasn't in charge was when he was being tortured, or Lily was. As terrible as that sounded, it took his family getting attacked to keep him from leading an Order mission.

He shrugged, attempting to look humble (James Potter, attempting to be humble?). "I'm glad to see you here, Andre," which was true, "You were one of my suggestions, actually. Along with Diggle---we healers have to stick together, aye? Or well, a few months worth of an intern, healer, anyway."

It made Andre happy that Potter had been the one who thought of him. Made him feel like that he hadn't completely wasted his breath around the boy. That and it always helped his ego when his talents were recognized, not that he needed it. His brows furrowed and he scanned the room again at the mention of Diggle. Diggle was in on this too? Hmph.

"You would of made a great healer." he allowed. Andre was always good at picking out the ones who would be the most successful in the trade. And James had been his top pick for his year before he dropped out. It was such a shame that he didn't finish.

But maybe that was fixable.

"Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to do this." he said gesturing around room. "I don't know how Adelaide would feel about it. Especially since my promotion to Head of Spell Damage. But even if I can't, I suppose I could still teach you a few things. Make you an Unofficial Healer of sorts. I'm sure it would be needed around here."

James' expression perked up. Unofficial Healer? As in...being a trained healer, without all the tests and degrees? He felt a strange sort of pride bubble in him, and he leaned forward, looking mighty, mighty interested.

"I think I'll have to take you up on that," James said, a ghost of his old mischievous grin sliding onto his face. The idea of finding his own way of becoming a healer, without having to work the long hours and not be there when Lily or the Order needed him, was very, very exhilarating. It was almost like studying to become an animagi; they'd had to do that on their own, so why not something like this? James had always hated giving up on things, so this--well, this couldn't have worked out any better.

"I'm still questioning whether or not I can do this," James admitted, shrugging lightly and looking down at his drink, "There are times when I don't want to do this, I mean---our kid's going to be here in less than two months, and I'm pretty sure Voldemort isn't going to drop dead before the end of July."
