Who: Noah Boot & Odette MacFarlan
What: LOL hilarity
Where: Roof of the planetarium
When: nowww

When asked stupid questions like 'what's your favorite color?' Noah often told the questioner to fuck off, or being a rant about what it mattered, or simply ignored them with a scowl and earned a few nasty nicknames behind his back. He didn't see the point in knowing such trivial information other than being a conversation filler, and if you had to reduce yourself to that, then maybe you shouldn't be allowed to speak. As much as he hated those questions, there was one that he did always have an answer for. Favorite season? Spring, immediately he would answer spring and be done with it.

It had been his favorite time of the year since he was little, since he had figured out that the sky was going to change and put on a different show. It was completely nerdy and no one outside of the astronomy field, but the spring brought along the change in constellations, and this week in particular gave way to the most predictable meteor shower, the Lyrids.

Noah often set up a viewing on the roof of the planetarium, one night for visitors and the other for himself and the employees; Terry had been on the roof last night and though he nodded off nearly five minutes into the show, Noah was pretty sure he appreciated. Tonight, however, reports were stating that the Lyrids were going to continue throughout a third day, and he'd nonchalantly bet Odette that she would see a falling star tonight. Maybe a bit cheesy, but by some miracle (maybe wishing on one of those stars?) she had agreed to join him on the roof.

The area around them was dark, as spells around the planetarium helped keep wizard and muggle light from disrupting the star gazes. Noah had set up some lawn chairs for an optimum viewing position, brought blankets and drinks, and so far he was reckoning he was doing a rather good job at keeping the hard to please Seeker amused.

"That's ten," he let out, lifting his drink up as another meteor, or 'falling star' shot across the sky. He turned to Odette and grinned, "Boy, you lost big time."

Well--- really how was she suppose to know that falling stars were apparently a thing at this time of the year? Or at all? It wasn't like people talked about them much or--- well she didn't really listen to the news but, they definitely weren't a well know type thing. It wasn't a completely idiotic to not believe him when Noah said there would be "so many of them" on a night so randomly like this one. Odette could barely remember the last time she had taken the time to look up at the sky for shooting stars anyway, so...

She wondered if she told him that whether or not Noah would be able to try and hide the self-induced heart attack that would come from it. A smile appeared on her face as she thought about how classic that would be, but decided to keep that little piece of information until later when it could be much better used.

"I'm beginning to think you tricked me," Odette stated, her eyebrows high before she tipped her cup for another drink. She wasn't going to sugar coat it, sitting up here all night was slightly boring. Okay, really boring. But fortunately the alcohol plus Noah's surreal giddiness over all this seemed to be enough to sustain her until she either fell asleep (unlikely) or got him to have sex on the roof.

Though she really shouldn't be too hard on him, he was trying after all. And she did tend to drag him everywhere she wanted to go nearly every other night so--- in a way, this could be the universe forcing her to stop being so selfish. Sigh, even if it was the best way. She really had nothing to complain about, the night wasn't that bad at all.

Noah swung his legs off the lounge chair to plant on the ground, grinning broadly. It would do no good for him to try to lie, as anyone who knew him for five minutes would be able to tell you that he was quite aware of the ongoings of the celestial sky above them. He shrugged his shoulders in an exaggerated gesture of innocence, hands going up in a similar manner. What could he say? She could kick his ass on the quidditch pitch, and he could give you the exact coordinates in the sky of a nebula or too.

Some people found one of those talents far more impressive than the other, but to each his own.

"Have to use what I got," he said, finishing the rest of his beer and dropping the bottle to the floor next to the--few others. Heh, well. It was quite easy to go through the drinks when you had nothing to do or worry about. Terry, as much as Noah fought it, was having a bonding session with his cousin Eddie. Noël had been harping him about it for weeks, while Noah constantly exclaimed that babies did not bond. They drooled and pooped, and in no human society was that a method of becoming attached to one another.

Except for maybe brutish quidditch players like his brother, but Martin's species of origin was often questioned.

"Now let's see, what do I win?" Noah put two fiendish fingers to his chin, trying to remember if anything like a deal had been struck when the initial bet was made, "I think it had something to do with indecent exposure...?"

She rolled her eyes, one long leg crossing over the other as she shifted in her seat. No, no, she was not about to give up so easily, no matter how small (or large, in some people's eyes) the price was. Cheating didn't count as... well-- you weren't suppose to use that on...oh, but-- Odette sat there for a moment with her mouth slightly open, trying to think of a reasonable explanation as to why wrongful trickery did not apply to her. And either time she came to the conclusion, she would come up as a hypocrite, a liar, or his monogamous girlfriend. Which she technically was.... so not the time to get into that.

... Screw it, she was half drunk anyway, reason had left the building a very long time ago as it always did.

"No no," Odette shook her index finger at him, smiling a coy smile as she leaned in toward him. "You don't get to win that easy." Yet, anyway. She was fairly certain by the end of the night she would be exposing him to some indecencies but... now was not the time. She sighed, glancing up at the sky for a second before looking back down at him.

"I will flash you," she started, and as Odette spoke waved her hand around her chest, "If you...." Do what? They were alone, on a roof, at night, concealed by spells and watching stars, for crying out loud. This was hardly the setting for a worth-while game of stupidity. Her bottom lip turned up as she thought, frowning slightly as she peered over the roof an into the streets. Oh.

"Streak across that muggle street over there."

Noah wouldn't exactly say he blanched as her dare was revealed, as he was still pretty smitten with the idea of her losing bargain, but his grin slowly slid off his face as the words started to be comprehended by his normally quick brain. Streak across the...that meant being naked, didn't it. Noah's eyes narrowed in what seemed like confusion, but was really him attempting to figure out a way around this.

His 'normally quick brain' was far too inebriated to find a solution to this, and Noah stood, a slight wiggle of his hips that vibrated through his body showing off an air of confidence. His hands immediately went to the hem of his shirt and he pulled it off, tossing it at Odette. It was freezing now, of course, but that only made him want to get this over with faster, and Noah managed to back his way over to the fire escape without stumbling once. He may not have gotten there in a straight line, but his feet hadn't stuttered a step.

The street certainly seemed a lot busier than he ever remembered it. Noah looked over the edge for a moment, trying to gauge how terribly embarrassing this really was going to be. Naked was just like---you were naked when you had sex, usually! Nothing embarrassing about that----oh, who was he kidding? This was ridiculous, there were cars moving down this road, and if he was going to get hit by one of those things, he'd really appreciate having his man bits covered in some cotton robes.

It was a dare though.

Noah's hands went to his belt buckle, sending Odette a wolfish smile before pulling it completely out of the belt loops. Feeling fresh (or drunk! Drunk was probably the better word for it!) Noah straightened his arm out and let the belt drop off the roof of the planetarium. He watched it fall, and a moment later he put his leg over the ledge to head down the fire escape--

"---oy, fuck that, there's a policeman down there!" Thank God. Noah was starting to think that he would have to apparate back and forth to at least somewhat get the win. But he knew that this was a failure, one that he was more than happy to accept. But now it was cold, and Noah hurried back over to Odette, dropping down beside her and looking shameful. But grinning. He was a bad actor.

"What's my punishment?"

Despite how much she wanted to tell him how lame that little show had exactly been and whack him, Odette instead let out a small laugh as she stood up and pushed him away from her. Oh, no no. Things did not work like that, she took her dares, bets, gauntlets, invitations and challenges very seriously. Like contracts, but different in the aspect that you really couldn't get away with breaking them.

"So?" Odette started, peering over the edge to spot this said 'policeman.' "What's the worst he can do--- arrest you?" She would know--- not that he needed to know that. Pressing the back of one her hand to her forehead while the other placed itself her hip, she took the moment to think. Or just breathe. Honestly she had no clue what she was doing at this point, because he had earned nothing for her attention, so....

Back to thinking that falling asleep would have been the better option. Or fake sleeping, because that would have most likely been what happened.

Odette turned back to him, her mouth open and ready to declare this new realization when it occurred to her that she was still holding onto his shirt he had so strip-teeily tossed at her. Oh. How unfortunate. "Oops," she mused after she had already dropped his shirt over the edge, and was watching it float down to the ground. "How clumsy of me," she sighed, frowning an innocent frown.

Damn it all.

Noah knew for a fact that he was not going to streak across the street. He was quite certain of this, and while there was some part of his brain that seemed willing to do anything to impress Odette (he figured this was that gene in a man that had been present since the dawn of time), the rest of his mind was shouting obscenities and literally freezing his body up to force him to stay up on the roof.

Really, what was so wrong with the roof, anyway? He would definitely not have a problem with being naked up here, especially if Odette participated in the activities that would ensue with his lack of clothes. Maybe he could convince her that staying right where they were was much more amusing than watching him embarrass the hell out of himself, and possibly be arrested for indecent exposure. He supposed he could always disapparate, but who knew where a heightened state of adrenaline could send you mid-apparation. Wouldn't want to end up in the middle of some random bloke's flat completely arse naked.

He was thinking about this far too much.

Noah picked up another beer and took a long drink, somewhere in his mind knowing that he shouldn't rely on alcohol for courage, but fuck it. He was nearly gone, and she didn't seem too far behind, what did it matter now? He stood up in front of Odette, smirking greatly as he began to unbutton his jeans.

"How about we both get naked and have some fun right here?" he said enjoying the boldness and having a feeling that Odette would too.

Odette couldn't even attempt to hide her shock: her jaw dropped and her eyebrows went high in response to his boldness. If he had been trying to impress her, then it had worked. She had convinced herself that she would have needed to coax him into... well, anything really. But they had been drinking a lot, and she had already disposed of his shirt, plus it was relatively seclusive (not that that particular detail bothered her in the slightest) up here...

A broad, very full smile materialized on her lips. Well. She'd better catch up, then. In something of a fluid motion, Odette dropped her jacket to the ground and tugged her dress off as she began to hobble toward him. Hobble only because it was rather windy, making it even harder to take a to-the-floor dress off while slightly drunk. Okay, drunk. No--- really drunk.

"Only if you promise we'll do something daring afterward," she announced in a slurred sort of way as she skimmed her hands down his bare chest to help him finish unbuttoning his jeans. So, turns out the sky could provide merit for entertainment, you just didn't have to watch it. See, Noah didn't know what he was talking about, her way was always much more fun.">
