Mary was blurting far too much information for him to comprehend. No, no it wasn't the amount, it was the importance of her words. The baby was behaving oddly? The baby, their boy, his boy was--Gabriel blinked furiously, trying to wrap his mind around this fact. There was something wrong with the baby? But she said the healers had said--had she not told them that she was felt he was acting strangely? Mary would know best, she knew their son, better than anyone else and---oh, he was going to keel over.
"Wh-what--Mary," he choked out, forcing his voice to remain soft, but strained. She looked frantic enough, there was no need for Gabriel to add to that. He stepped forward and put his hand to his forehead. This was--frustrating. This wasn't something silly like...like mixing up socks, or putting the baby in an ugly shirt, this was actually a life or death situation, and she hadn't told him a damn thing. "You've seen the pediatric healers?"
Gabriel felt his panic soften as the anger from last night bubbled to the surface again. This was the cheeky journal entry all over again; this is was what was going to happen for the rest of the child's life if he didn't put his foot down on the matter.
