He placed the flowers in a nearly empty vase at her bedside and stood quietly for a moment, eyes moving about the different flowers, looking for something to occupy the first few moments of awkwardness that he was sure would occur. Gabriel had a million things to say to her but couldn't find the words. Now was not the time, he didn't think. Mary was here for a reason, she needed to get better, for herself and the baby.
"What have the healers been saying?" he said, turning to Mary. She looked all right, and if she was able to joke in her journal, Gabriel had come to the easy conclusion that she was all right. But still. Death eaters were no laughing matter, there was no reason to not be concerned.
"Are you to be released soon?"
