Open to 77ers!
Okay, so this reunion?

FANTASTIC IDEA.

Giada couldn't even---there was just so---IT WAS ALL JUST SO EXCITING. She'd seen these people and talked to them and what have you, but to have everyone grouped together, it was--brilliant! The stories that came up and the laughter and it was just right, and she felt like this was absolutely what everyone needed. It seemed like everyone in their year had been touched by the war, and--it was definitely noticeable with some people, but wasn't it better to try and move on with people who actually cared about you, then to sit and let time try to fix everything? Sometimes you needed a smile or a hug, it was just human nature.

Or it was just Giada Vance's nature, but! It was a good medicine, she liked to think.

The hall was gorgeous, and she found herself adjusting the plates and utensils and cups on the buffet table to make them alternate in position and just---looking perfect, because everything was perfect! Almost! It was as perfect as it could possibly be, and that was AWESOME.

She whirled around at a hand on her elbow, and Giada's face lit up brightly, "OH MY GOSH HI!" she let out, literally throwing her arms around them.

Turning to face him, she raised her eyebrows as high as they would go. "Well, I suppose since you think they're fine, that should end the matter." But her face was smiling--albeit, rather smugly. If this was the sort of company she could expect to see for the majority of the evening, perhaps it wouldn't be a night of boredom. Not, of course, that she didn't have the privilege of seeing Edward Pennifold often. At, say, luncheons to which he had very clearly not been invited.

"I hope you have been having a most pleasurable evening, Mister Pennifold," Rachel said, in a brisk, business-like tone. "Clearly, we have gone through much trouble to ensure a wonderful time for you."

"Good," Edward smiled smugly, raising his drink slightly in a toast-like gesture. Since, obviously, his opinion did matter greatly to most people-- being an editor had that kind of perk. Which also meant he was ninety percent of the time correct. Little known fact for anyone that card to know.

Edward held back rolling his eyes at her, or giving any kind of emotional response, really, as she addressed him again. Mister Pennifold? Really. Did she think he was an old man? Or anything but her peer for the last ten years? Though, he supposed that they had kept up this game of addressing each other strangely for quite some time that breaking it now would be even stranger than going along with it. Or would it just throw her off, which ultimately had been the goal so many years ago?

Hm. What a conundrum.

"Oh yes. Though I can't see why, it's not like I personally am that hard to please," he mused, opting to break the tone that Rachel was trying to set.

This man, much as she hated to admit it (and therefore would not, ever, not to anyone but herself--and even then--) pushed her buttons. Not in the--saucy way; he simply aggravated her.

A lot, actually.

And while he was a good friend of hers (though how they got to be so, Rachel could never understand), it didn't alter the fact that she wanted to grab the heaviest thing near them and take a good whack at him.

But of course, she didn't.

"Is that so? I personally find you a tremendous pain in certain areas that are not ladylike to mention in public," Rachel said as sweetly as she could manage.

She turned her attention back to the delinquent ribbon.
