Okay, so this reunion?

FANTASTIC IDEA.

Giada couldn't even---there was just so---IT WAS ALL JUST SO EXCITING. She'd seen these people and talked to them and what have you, but to have everyone grouped together, it was--brilliant! The stories that came up and the laughter and it was just right, and she felt like this was absolutely what everyone needed. It seemed like everyone in their year had been touched by the war, and--it was definitely noticeable with some people, but wasn't it better to try and move on with people who actually cared about you, then to sit and let time try to fix everything? Sometimes you needed a smile or a hug, it was just human nature.

Or it was just Giada Vance's nature, but! It was a good medicine, she liked to think.

The hall was gorgeous, and she found herself adjusting the plates and utensils and cups on the buffet table to make them alternate in position and just---looking perfect, because everything was perfect! Almost! It was as perfect as it could possibly be, and that was AWESOME.

She whirled around at a hand on her elbow, and Giada's face lit up brightly, "OH MY GOSH HI!" she let out, literally throwing her arms around them.

Derek did not want to be here. Derek had no desire to be here, and if it had just been Rachel trying to harass him into coming, he would have managed to be firm in his refusal.But once Edward, and Giada, started throwing in their two-cents, he had lost the battle.

Thus, Derek dragged himself to get ready, thought he looked passable enough, in the way that wouldn't scare many people off, and set off for the hall.

He kept his head down, smiling as cordially as he could manage, moving until he saw Giada fussing with the buffet table. He should say hi--the whole reason he had come had been for her. And it had been ages since they'd seen each other, last. A small, tired, but mostly genuine smile spread on his face as he grabbed her elbow, not expecting her to fling herself at him.

Surprised, he patted her on the back a bit awkwardly, the physical contact feeling almost alien. "Oy," he pulled back and smiled once more. "Look, I made it. I expect to be shown the time of my life."

She pulled back, arms still around Derek, a wide, wide smile on her face. It was so good to see him! Oh, she used to spend so much time talking to this boy, just chattering on and on, and okay, maybe fancying him for a bit too, but. Giada loved the fact that she had stayed in touch with Derek, and that he still talked to Rachel, and Edward, and Morty, and it was just---she was so glad to have friends and be a friend and.

"Gladly!" she cooed, still not removing herself from Derek's grasp. This probably would look terrible, seeing as she was engaged, and Derek's---well. If you didn't know Giada, you would think this was terrible, but it was not out of the blue to see her clinging to a friend as if her arms would fall off if she let go. Ask Rachel! Just ask Rachel, Giada loved to hug and cling, it was such a good feeling, and! And. She had the feeling that Derek needed a good hug.

"What would you like first! Food? Drink? Dance? I can provide each and every one of those things!"
