Open to 77ers!
Okay, so this reunion?

FANTASTIC IDEA.

Giada couldn't even---there was just so---IT WAS ALL JUST SO EXCITING. She'd seen these people and talked to them and what have you, but to have everyone grouped together, it was--brilliant! The stories that came up and the laughter and it was just right, and she felt like this was absolutely what everyone needed. It seemed like everyone in their year had been touched by the war, and--it was definitely noticeable with some people, but wasn't it better to try and move on with people who actually cared about you, then to sit and let time try to fix everything? Sometimes you needed a smile or a hug, it was just human nature.

Or it was just Giada Vance's nature, but! It was a good medicine, she liked to think.

The hall was gorgeous, and she found herself adjusting the plates and utensils and cups on the buffet table to make them alternate in position and just---looking perfect, because everything was perfect! Almost! It was as perfect as it could possibly be, and that was AWESOME.

She whirled around at a hand on her elbow, and Giada's face lit up brightly, "OH MY GOSH HI!" she let out, literally throwing her arms around them.

The dress she had picked for this occasion was perhaps a bit too short for her liking - it showed way more leg than she usually did - but she figured that this was part of her Fancy New Catchlove stage. Her shoulder-length hair was swept up and pinned to the back of her head, and she arrived a half an hour after the schedule start time.

A '77 reunion - how marvelous! Most of her best friends had been from this year, and sigh, the memories! She made a bit of a round, stopping to hug, exclaim, and exchange fond memories and stories. She had accepted a glass of wine, and nibbling on a slice of pound cake, she wandered around again, and her eyes fell upon a dark haired girl sitting about two feet away from her, and caught her eye. Giving her a bit of a wave, Stefana approached.

"Graciela Cervantes!" she exclaimed, taking a seat next to her. "Or, Smith, pardon me! I haven't seen you in forever, that was quite a book you wrote!"

The two weren't exactly the best of friends back at Hogwarts - or, actually friends at all. Bossy Bess Zeller had been the Queen Bee, popular and dictator-like. Although she had never been overtly mean to Graciela, it was due to her friend's influence that she mainly ignored the other girl or peeked at her homework when Bess would take it. The friendliness in her voice was genuine, and perhaps brought upon with more than a bit of guilt - she knew that treating a girl that they lived with for seven years was not the nicest thing to do, and for the most part, Stefana was truly glad to see that Graciela seemed to have found success and happiness.

She could not deny that she was a bit startled by the approach, but it was very welcome and exciting. Graciela was no longer the scared, meek little girl she was in school, and even if the conversation did turn out poorly, she was very sure that she would be able to handle herself if things did not go well.

"Thank you!" she exclaimed, feeling herself straighten up at the compliment. She was very proud of her book, it was the reason why she had not run back to Portugal after she finished her education, and it had helped her get through some very trying times. Dealing with Alex's addiction, an unexpected pregnancy (unexpected sex, she should say), Alex being tortured by death eaters--writing her book felt like she was doing something.

"I am very glad that you picked it up," Graciela said honestly, realizing even more how much this meant things had changed. "I have heard you work for the BBC? Will you be on the telly soon?"

It felt as if a tiny weight had been lifted off her shoulder by Graciela's mutual friendly reaction; she would have felt horribly guilty if the other woman had given her the cold shoulder (that she was guilty of giving Graciela for nearly seven years, sigh).

"I'm not a big history person, but I must confess that I wasn't too terribly educated about the details of the struggles of the Portuguese Muggleborn wizarding population," she said, unable to hide her admiration. She crossed her legs demurely and took a bite out of her pound cake. "And I do actually! I came out of Hogwarts specializing in only Muggle Studies, and thought, well, what can I do with that?" She gave a small, self-deprecating laugh. "I'm currently an assistant in production. I don't know about the telly - I think I'm way too shy for that!"
