"Depends on how you look at it," Edward mused from behind Rachel, taking the moment to take a sip of his drink before smiling widely at her.
Usually
he wouldn't have thought twice about not attending a social gathering like this simply on the fact that he really wasn't a social person to begin with. The thought of it being a
school reunion, nonetheless, made the whole prospect even more unappealing, but-- Giada and Rachel would have attacked him in his sleep if he didn't show up. And not just because, technically speaking, he had been somewhat invovled in the process of the idea of having a reunion.
Though honestly, the appeal of seeing Rachel act 'whimsical' was a deciding factor to make him get there, and on time.
Derek too, of course, his friend hadn't been the same since January, so Edward felt like the least he could do was watch over his friend to the best of his ability during the night. Since... he had had a hand in making Derek come here tonight in the first place.
"It's fine," he finished, shurgging his shoulders at her. Really, the last thing people were going to be noticing was one decoration slightly out of place tonight.
