Although she had never been overtly mean to Graciela, it was due to her friend's influence that she mainly ignored the other girl or peeked at her homework when Bess would take it. The friendliness in her voice was genuine, and perhaps brought upon with more than a bit of guilt - she knew that treating a girl that they lived with for seven years was not the nicest thing to do, and for the most part, Stefana was truly glad to see that Graciela seemed to have found success and happiness.
