Who: Ashlyn and Keegan
Where: Hogsmeade
When: Saturday afternoon
What: Wedding Shopping, duh

Thirteen weeks. It had been thirteen weeks already, and Ashlyn could hardly believe it. There were so many things to think about coming up; they'd have to make an appointment with a healer at some point just to make sure everything was alright and--oh god, people were going to find out sooner or later. It made her stomach turn just thinking about it. But it was their weekend away from school. Things were going to be okay, because Ashlyn was currently window shopping for the wedding and getting things squared away. Poor Keegan; was it necessary for him to be dragged along?

"What do you think?" she asked, turning around to look at him. "I really like this necklace but...well, it all depends on how I wear my hair, you know? Which do you like?" she asked, holding up the two candidates. "This one's really simple, but...I don't know. I think this one would match the theme better." Decisions, decisions.

Keegan was having some of the same thoughts as Ashlyn but the one that was stuck in his head. What in God's name made him think that this was a good idea? An urge came to rub his temples and he avoided him. It seemed as of lately that Ashlyn had eyes in the back of her head and could spot something he did that he wasn't supposed to. He sighed and remembered. Ashlyn didn't need to be carrying everything by herself. She was thirteen weeks and he didn't want any stress for Ashlyn that could be avoided.

"I think it's whatever you like best. What you truly like best and not what goes with the theme of the wedding. You're supposed to stand out love, not blend in with your bridesmaids and scenery." He put his hand on her lower back and smiled weakly. This was going to be a long Hogsmeade trip. He chewed on his lip, "This is going to be really silly but on the subject of your hair I've always liked it best down." Silently he added, especially after sex but he was quickly learning to keep anything like that to himself but a small private smile grew on his face at the thought.

Ashlyn smiled at him. "The first one it is, then." She secretly thought the second necklace was a bit gaudy but--well, it had the orange stuff in it and everything. She hadn't really considered wearing her hair down--not because she knew he liked it, just that she always had her hair down (at least, it seemed that way) and she wanted to look different and special. If she had it up, then people would notice and it would be important and--anyways.

"Hmmm, my hair down?" she stood on tiptoe to give him a quick kiss. "I'll have to give it some thought." It was probably for the better that he didn't say anything, because she had a very short list of items to acquire and she had absolutely no problem adding more.

She gently slipped out of his arms, grabbing on to a hand to go to the register and pay for the necklace. The only reason they were taking time today to shop was because Ashlyn's mother finally knew about everything. Oh, she was furious about her daughter being pregnant--the letter she wrote back was ten bloody pages long--but had eventually decided that Ashlyn was making the right decision due to the circumstances. There was a little bit of help coming in from her parents to fund the wedding, but not a whole lot. Her mother decided it would be better to spend the money on her unborn grandchild (Ashlyn still hadn't taken a sex specific test) than on a wedding that will last for one evening and then be over and done with.

"Alright, boy-o. D'you want to be fitted for dress robes next or go look at flowers?" It almost felt like she was torturing him...but hey, he was the one who'd knocked her up, right? Right.

A kiss was given back easily and he squinched up his nose at the thought. His own parents were fronting the money that her mother wasn't. They had told him nothing extravagent but they would help, His mother felt that you only truly were able to be a bride once in your lifetime. "Such a hard choice." He put his hand on his chin for a moment as if deep in thought.

Really it wasn't. The only thing he thought about with flowers is if he culd afford them and if Ashlyn would like them. "I think I'll suffer through pins of a fitting." He grinned at her and squeezed her hand and tried to make light of the situation. The flowers would come he knew but at this exact moment he didn't want to deal with them. "We'll break for something to eat after that. Sound good?" Secretely it was his way of getting her off her feet for a bit without telling her.

Ashlyn grinned. "I'll make sure to tell the tailor to be extra accidental with you," she said lightly as she grabbed his hand and made her way to the door of the shop. "Food actually sounds really good," she said happily, now wondering how long the fitting would take and where they would end up going for lunch. Going to the tailor's would be another chance for her to sit since she'd be doing essentially nothing while she was there.

Hrm. Maybe she could figure some things out--like baby names. Ugh, she didn't even want to think about that. Maybe it would be easier if she just owled the healer and asked for a gender test at their appointment. How things were going to be discreet when both she and Keegan mysteriously disappeared from classes she didn't know, but--bugger it to hell if people found out. She only half cared about it, anyways. Her self esteem didn't ride on the opinions others held of her.

"So," she said quietly to him, walking somewhat close to him to keep herself warm. "Do you think we're having a little Keegan or a little Ashlyn?" The crowd around them was caught up in their own world; mostly third years that were still overly excited at the prospect of being in Hogsmeade and ogling all the store fronts. She wasn't hoping for one either way; a little girl would be nice, but a boy wouldn't be too terrible...right?

"I think either way I'll be happy love." Secretly he was going insane, he wanted to know. He wanted to boast he was becoming proud of what was growing inside of Ashlyn. A little girl to dote on or a little boy to teach Quidditch to. Baby names hadn't even crossed his mind yet. The thought of it made him smile. He held her hand easily completely ignoring the third years. It was the best way to handle them really. So what if he felt a little above them?

"Lets go get this done so we can go and eat." Looking around he hoped to spot the seamstress just so he could hurry the process. He hated the process with his mum. Keegan still shuttered at the thought of going into Diagon Alley to be fitted in his first year. "What are you craving love?" He grinned down at her.

Hey, he could teach Quidditch to his little girl! Maybe deep down that was what Ashlyn really wanted; a little girl that she could raise to be strong and proud of who she was, who knew that she was capable of anything and was going to go places. The name thing was going to kill her, though. She had given it absolutely no thought and probably wouldn't until farther into things.

She let out a soft sigh as the made their way into the store, her mind now focused on what exactly she was hungry for. She had been so indecisive lately; it wasn't that she was hungry for something specific, rather it was just a hunger in general. She'd been wanting lots of fruit, though, she knew. Fruit and chocolate and--she could do with a basket of chips as well. "I'll have to think about it," she said with a smile, leaning up to kiss him.

An older witch came up to them just then, asking what she could do for them. Ashlyn explained that she'd owled ahead of time to let her know they were coming in for a dress robe fitting for a wedding and the witch just smiled. "Well, isn't that special. Young love. You know, my Herbie and I got married just out of school..." she bustled off to find the robes she'd set aside for them while Ashlyn found an unoccupied chair. The rest was going to be nice.

Her kiss was returned easily ad he squeezed her side gently. Keegan smiled at the witch and remained standing. There was no point in sitting down when he was going to get right back up again. He kissed the top of her head gingerly. "You know? I really hate robe fittings. I had an awful time of it in first year. My mother wanted it to be just right and all I wanted to do was to look at broomsticks for the next year."

He tapped his foot as well. Paitence had never been one of Keegan's virtues. He was close to pacing and kept his legs still not wanting to annoy Ashlyn. It didn't help that he was hungry as well. Probably for something a little more normal. "I told you my mum and Dad are going to help with what your mother can't pay right?" He rubbed the back of his neck not quite remembering. Everything was so blurry and going so quickly.
