Melia was on the verge of tears when Mark finally kissed her. The embrace he urged her into was a lot lighter than the one he'd forced upon Ashleigh, and Melia couldn't help being grateful for that. After all, it was only the third time she'd ever been kissed.

Afraid of being labeled a bad kisser, she puckered her lips under his. It could probably be seen as encouragement, but that wasn't what she was trying to do.
