Ed could have happily spent the next forever wrapped up in this embrace. Kissing Ashleigh had never occurred to him before now, but it was an understatement to say he was enjoying it.
Unfortunately, Ashleigh cared a lot more about the crowd around him than he did and in the end she pulled away. Ed couldn't help feeling disappointed, but as he caught sight of her red face, he flashed her an apologetic grin. Embarrassing her definitely hadn't been his intention.
"Sorry," he mumbled for her ears alone once he'd managed to catch his breath again. "Got carried away. I blame you for being so good at that." It was probably obvious from his tone that he was teasing about that last part. Mostly. She had been unbelievably good, though. Maybe Matt was right. Maybe he should have been doing this with her all along.
