Welcome to the orgy
OOC Note: Despite the title, this thread retains the comm's slightly loose PG-13 rating. This thread is more for silliness... oh, and letting Stacy and Kerri know they missed the orgy, than it is for anything harder. Please feel free to mingle, socialize, flirt, show up in ridiculously sexy costumes, interact with people from the 'other' com, show off your fancy/skimpy clothing links, make out, snugglepile... whatever. Just keep it lighthearted and keep it silly. This is just a bit of fun.

IC:

Party time!
Someone gave Kelly some part in planning things - as such, wardrobe is strictly limited to suitable costumes for the orgy at the door, but weapons are entirely permissable. Indeed, some of the orgy presents might well be wired with explosives, so be careful if searching among the table of party favors.

There's all manner of refreshments - chocolate, chips, meat and veggie trays, bbq... as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages of all descriptions. Of course, don't necessarily trust the non-alcoholic section... the punch is almost certainly spiked, and who knows what else is, and with what.
For those willing to trust to the discretion of the house, various waiters and waitresses move about with trays of food and drinks, most of them dressed in some variant on the standard Chippendale or Playboy Bunny - though there's a selection of cabana boys and short-skirted car hops and the like as well.

There's music playing, soft enough people can talk, but still present. Anyone can change the music at any time if the current selection doesn't suit their fancy.

Likewise, the place is set up with comfy couches, love seats, overstuffed armchairs, comfy mats on the floor, piles of pillows and cushions... and then there's the private rooms.

Kelly herself is dressed in her yellow and black 'Dip Me in Honey and Throw Me to the Lesbians' t-shirt, and a pair of camouflage panties, with 'Go Commando' written in black across the butt, settled in among one of the cushion islands, waiting for the guests to start arriving.

"I've had my reasons for burying myself in things," she admits. There is a moment where she almost closes off completely. It doesn't happen though whatever she was making reference to didn't matter at the moment.

He nods. "A great deal has changed for you, and I am sure it has been very difficult. A sense of stability and order amidst chaos is important."

Her parents dying and having the armor bond to her. It hasn't even been a year. Things have been hard. She won't talk about it though.

"I'm working on it. Finding some kind of stability. School gave me something to focus on. It made the stress of having to learn how to control what the armor gave me... easier. I had something to center myself on."

He nods. He read her file. He knew something about her before agreeing to help train her - he always would before such a commitment. He could have been more specific - but that would be rude, to make her face her grief like that. So he was more general, giving her an out, showing he understood, but she would not be required to discuss anything uncomfortable.

"Of course. And you have done well with that center. And now it is time to begin working out from the center. As I must remember to do."

She had been good about not getting upset when her parent's deaths were brought up in the past. But right now she wasn't in a mood where she could touch that.

"I guess everyone gets like that. They find a way to cope." And she agrees that she has to move past that.

Others can bring it up. Confronting people with uncomfortable topics was rude. So, like a good court trained boy, he worked around it and gave her 'outs', so she could talk without needing to actually mention specifics.

"And not everyone does. You've done an admirable job with hat you've been given."

People keep saying that. She just thinks she did the best she could because success was the only option. She doesn't say that though she just takes anther sip from the slightly less warm sake.

"You do what you have to. I am fortunate I was able to do so."

He raises a brow. "Fortune and luck are often just words for making the best of what we've been given." he replies, finishing his own sake, and then refilling their cups.

"Also sometimes you succeed based upon the fact you can't fail," she adds with a faint chuckle. "People discount those kinds of successes often."

This is only her third drink and it's been spaced out. She thinks she will be fine.

A small nod. A small drink. "There is a difference between knowing you cannot fail, and believing you cannot fail. Many fail anyway, if they only believe it. I am glad to see you among us, regardless." he adds, toasting her and drinking.

See that is the kind of thing to make a girl blush. It's not obvious though thank goodness. She was never good at discussing feelings and was very happy Hajime did not talk about them either.

Nope, discussion of feelings as definitely off-limits. That would be rude. "Have you had any interesting adventures of late?" Stories, on the other hand, were entirely acceptable.

And that has Kayura bounce back.

"That reminds me!" There is a beat between that and her adjusting her glasses. "I forgot about the Ogre."

Kayura stops herself screwing her nose up in thought.

"Actually, most of my good stories involve Ogres... let's see..." She taps her finger against her chin.

"Would you prefer the latest adventure I have with one or the first time I ever saw one on my own?"

She tries to not chuckle at that. It was just amusing the way he put it.

"It was three... no. Four weeks after the armor bonded to me. I had just gotten used to the armor's gifts. I didn't know how to block out the extra senses in gifted me with at first, you see. I wasn't sure of myself at all. But I had been reading things. Trying to find something to do to see if I could manage it. I found what I thought was signs of vampires. Maybe three at the most so I went to investigate the area they were using for hunting grounds."

Of course he puts it that way. Things have a time and place, and this is the place and time, of course. He listens quietly.

[info]weakerlink

Kayura continues the story.

"It was dark out. Near midnight. I had been walking around for about three hours trying to get a sense of the area, maybe track down where they were staying so I could take care of the situation without getting myself hurt.

That's when I heard a very angry bellow. I couldn't ignore it so I went running to see what had gone on. So I was about to run past an ally way thinking it was further up ahead," she stops for a breath and shakes her head. "I was wrong. One of the vampires was throw out in front of me. I tripped over him and well.... He wasn't pretty. He had been disarmed, literally. I didn't have time to do anything but turn quickly because I heard something running towards me. When I turned two more vampires ran past me yelling loudly. That was when I saw the Ogre he came down the ally not really running but he was definitely going to catch up the to vampires. He was very intent on going after them it seemed."

"Interesting. I would guess either very young, or very overconfident vampires, to let themselves be trapped in that situation." he says, then quiets again.

"Very young and stupid," she decides.

"The Ogre ignored me. He just let the vampires start to run then he picked up the mangled body of their friend and threw the body at them knocking down."

She went on to describe how the Ogre beat the vampires into something grossly imagining paste.

"I was rather speechless as you can imagine. I did manage to ask him why he killed the vampires though. It took a while as he was er, rather dim witted. I did get the story out of him though He was upset with the vampires for killing an elderly homeless man that he lived near and decided that he would exact revenge. Apparently it's a very bad to kill someone who has made friends with an Ogre.... I felt bad for the Ogre actually, he would have been mostly harmless if his friend hadn't been killed."

She did not mention that she had decided all Ogres smelt very bad.

"Interesting. My own experience with them has suggested that while most are very self-centered, making them end up evil, and I have never met a smart one, they are sometimes best just left alone. Sounds like one of those."

"It would be something interesting to look into if I had the time."
