Icon previewing on comments- when you go to comment and select an icon it shows the icon you selected.

ALSO: You can't have ?mode=reply at the end of your URL. Try having #comments and then clicking Post A New Comment or responding to someone else's comment, if it's not showing up for you.

	Hrmm, wow, I wonder if any of you know the people from GJ, mainly the system guy. Cause it would help if I could see his code or have him let us use the code since they're going down the drain... So yeah if anyone knows how to get a hold of that person let me know. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

I tried to log into my old GreatestJournal account and get a screencap of what the icons preview looked like on there, but it's no longer working. Also, I have ~system's e-mail because one of the individuals who helped out with GreatestJournal privately messaged it to me when GreatestJournal last went down and everyone was asking what he did with all of the cash that people donated towards the site via the user ~naa, back when she began a username reset, much like you are thinking of doing. She was resetting names for whoever donated money, but to the knowledge of the users, the money never went towards the site. I can e-mail you ~system's e-mail addy if you'd like, but according to the GreatestJournal staff if I remember correctly, he added so much crap to his coding for the site that he actually ending up breaking the code, (I didn't even know that was possible,) and later on many of the errors happening on GreatestJournal were uncorrectable because of that. So, I don't know if you'd want to use his coding, although ~squeaky over at InsaneJournal has the icon preview that LiveJournal has that is shown in that screencap, so you could ask him too. It's up to you but either way, I can e-mail you ~system's e-mail.

squeaky has it, maybe I can ask him how it works. I do know him so I will have a little chat with him :) Thanks for pointing that out ^____^! So if I am correct there's an icon preview also available on LJ? If so I can definitely check that out cause I have an account there and on IJ...

	The screenshot I posted about is the LJ version of the icon preview, which is what IJ also has. The GJ version was not as advanced, but it worked well. There's a trick to it, and I don't know why it works this way, but it just does. When you go to comment someone, make sure the page URL isn't ending in .html?mode=reply, because if it does then the option is disabled for some reason. You have to comment a page that already has comments, or while you are on the page ending in .html?mode=reply, hit the link for "Read Comments," and if there are no comments, then hit the "Post a New Comment" link. Then, you should see a "Browse" button next to the drop down list for your icons. Hit "Browse" and that window should pop up for you.

	I noticed that too. I think it takes a while to load since the site isn't running on as many servers as LJ might be running on. On LJ, when you first open it, it'll say "Loading..." for a second or two. I'm going to check the IJ FAQ though, it might be a Paid Account option on IJ, too, but still someone shows up for regular users. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
