More S2 templates?
I don't know if this is more a suggest to the users or the maintainer (I'm unfamiliar with S2, so I don't know if templates are user-made and then mass-used, or if the maintainer makes them), but I figured it was worth a mention anyway.

Preferrably, I'd like to see "Flexible Squares" and "Smooth Sailing". I found some examples on premade layout journals, so I hope it's ok to link to those:

Smooth Sailing

If you need other examples, let me know and I can find them ^^ I hope this is in the right place!

Thank you for your time :)

You can use the free-ware ones at LiveJournal for s2 layouts like Smooth Sailing and Flexible Squares.

Here is a tutoria on how to use it and I've already got some in use. If you get your own layout code (not the CSS but the actual base code from here, start with step one.

If that seems really scary to you, start with step two and use these: They're exactly above, just step one already done for you.

Smooth Sailing: 1045
Flexible Squares: 1051
Bloggish: 1205

Then you take your CSS from those two sites and you go to Customization and Custom CSS link and put in the CSS they provide you and play around with your sidebar / what have you.

I think that should work.

Still, it's a good idea.

i agree. i'd like it to be an easier way than having to do all of that. at least for flexible squares. most people don't know how to do that sort of thing even with a tutorial & some just don't want to "mess anything up" so they have to stick with the other layouts.
