Booth wasn't a very good drunk but then, for a boy who didn't even drink, it was rather unsurprising to have little tolerance for alcohol. That being the case and all, someone should have warned the Hufflepuff that the apple cider he had been drinking all night, toasting with every glass he came in contact with, wasn't for the faint of heart. Such a warning didn't happen though -- whether because his fellow party-goers were amused or because they thought he knew, it was hard say -- and a few hours into the festivities Booth Huntington thought it'd be an excellent idea to see how Justin was doing.

He announced quite loudly and clearly that he was off to check on something and then left the upstairs drawing room, a young man with a purpose and a slightly drunken swagger. Finding the magical powder wasn't a problem, saying quite clearly that he wanted to go to JUSTIN FINCH-FLETCHLEY's hardly an issue.

But showing up there without getting soot in his glass and on his hair? Impossible. He stumbled out of Justin's chimney, coughing and shaking his head, only a short instant later, momentarily distracted from his desire to wish the boy a Happy New Year.

The Finch-Fletchley manor in Northampton was entertaining a small get together for New Years festivities. Justin's parents were sociable people and made it a habit to have their friends over for a masquerade for their friends. Their son's sons were required this evening to stay and help entertain until nine in the evening before escaping to the town for their own youthful celebrations of the new year.

Justin was busy entertaining friends in the ballroom while his twelve year old sister, Daniela, was forced to miss out on the party. She'd been sent upstairs after dinner ended at seven and had been trying to make her evening just as exciting as everyone else's. She'd decided it'd be interesting to rummage around in her second brother's room and try to open his strongly warded school trunk. While she was cursing a third pair of bent scissors the only fireplace in the house connected to the magical world started to flame. Terrified the girl had plastered her backside to the wall and watched as the weird soot covered ... somebody dusted himself off.

"Who...are you?" the brunette asked with a forced superiority as she slowly regained her own posture without the aid of the wall. Holding up the bent pair of scissors as a make shift weapon.
