Neville didn't know if he should feel angry with his Gran or not, but that almost seemed unfair. She could have been mean to him and demanded that Linda leave right away and that he was never to see her again, or she could have prolonged his agony and actually wandered into his room and struck up conversation with the scantily clad pair. Even if Neville was annoyed that whatever was going to happened had been interrupted, he couldn't be angry at his Gran for it. Maybe it was just some sort of sign that right now wasn't the perfect time. Of course he thought anytime could have been the perfect time, but that was just how he worked it out in his head.
Despite the fact that he was blushing, he was still smiling slightly at Linda, now able to make a face that didn't include wincing or frowning. "That could have gone a lot worse, yeah," he agreed, moving his hand up to itch at the spot he had bumped. "I reckon it will be fine in a few moments." The last word was interrupted by a chuckle that slipped out, and for some reason Neville suddenly found the entire thing funny.
