Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Ron and Ginny Weasley
When: Sunday evening
Where: Gryffindor Boys' 7th Year Dormitory
What: Christmas list discussion, try number two! Hopefully this time, someone won't delete the thread thinking that they're saving a change. Sigh.

Ginny refluffed the pillows on Harry's bed and then resettled back on them, grunting slightly in annoyance as she stared at the long scroll with the names of family and friends on the left and ideas for Christmas gifts on the right. Some names were easy to fill, like Charlie--"new gloves"--and Lupin and Tonks--"baby clothes and an engraved rattle"--and the gift she was giving to the entire Quidditch team. But beyond that? Very little. She sucked on the end of her sugar quill and sighed. Ron? Mione? Neville, she was pretty sure what to get, but--Harry?

She glanced at her wristwatch, looking at her brother for a moment and then back at the scroll. When would Harry be back from his private Occlumency lesson with Snape? It wasn't surprising that he was finally picking up the skill, now that his attitude was better; bollocks, Harry was doing DADA lessons with him, too, he and Snape had obviously achieved some kind of detente. And after the holiday break, he was going to start learning Legilimency, which made Ginny slightly nervous. Harry would be able to read her mind...it was disconcerting, that someone could have that kind of power. It made her nervous the way that true Seers did, how they just knew things. Well, other than Madame Trelawney, that woman was a total hack...and always reeked of cooking sherry...what was that about? Was she too delicate for firewhiskey? Though...

"I'd take some cooking sherry right now. Might help," she sighed to herself, pressing the heel of her hand to her forehead and banging her head back against the headboard.

Ron caught the pillow and smiled, sitting up in his spot and holding it on his lap. "See? It would have all worked out." He shrugged a bit, running a hand through his haor and suddenly missing those few years when it was just him and Ginny at home.

Ginny rolled her eyes and grabbed her wand, summoning the pillow back to her and then resolutely putting it back behind her head. "Oh, sure, you just keep justifying it. Don't make me mention the S-word again," she threatened, smoothing her hand down the bedspread and giving Ron a wicked smile.

"Oi, haven't you tortured me enough?" He groaned, having yet another mental image jump into his mind. She really was pure evil.

"Hey," he said suddenly, "what did you get Hermione? So I don't copy or whatever."

"No, no I haven't," Ginny answered with a serene smile.

She exhaled hard. "One of two things: either a new bed and toys for Crookshanks or set of lotions that smell like spring flowers. But I would get that from the same place that I bought Fleur's gift, and I feel that that lowers Hermione a bit," she said, sticking out her tongue.

"Yeah, sure, Gin. you're never through torturing, are you?" He shook his head and knew he would be subjected to this torture for the rest of his life since Harry seemed intent on marrying his sister at some point.

Ron nodded when she talked about her gift for Hermione. He would definitely do the quill and personalized stationery thing but there had to be something he could add to it.

"No, never," Ginny replied sweetly. And to think, the torture had truly only begun. Just wait until there was a wedding night to needle him with, when kids were born...because you couldn't deny how they had been procreated...an entire lifetime of making Ron squirm. Fun!

She picked her list back up and frowned at it. "Angelina might come to Christmas Eve supper...should I get her a gift, too? Do you get your brother's girlfriend a gift? I'm not really friends with her, but...should I? She's so nice, and she puts up with Fred way too well..."

Ron considered her question about Angelina and he shrugged. "Er, I wasn't going to. I'm not exactly a fountain of money. It's up to you, really."

He didn't have enough money to get presents for every little person so he had to mae a few choices on that front.

Ginny gave Ron a mysterious smile. "Well, Demelza and I are getting down and dirty to make some homemade goodies for gifts...I can't tell you what, but...I think I'll make her a little something," she said, writing down a note next to Angelina's name.

She sighed, tossing down the scroll again and then curling up against the pillows. "You know what sounds extra good right now? A little nap," she said with a smile, breathing in the scent of Harry from the pillows and closing her eyes. "And maybe when I wake up, magically, all of my Christmas presents will be sorted out."
