Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO; Morag MacDougal && Dean Urquhart.
WHEN; Tuesday, September 23rd. After dinner.
WHERE; Front steps of the castle, then around the grounds?
SUMMARY; Morag and Dean need some healthy distraction.
RATING; PG. Maybe PG-13 for language.
WARNINGS; None, yet?
STATUS; In progress.

As thankful as Morag had been for coming back to Hogwarts, she now found herself wishing the summer hadn't ended. Since the beginning of the school year (and, Merlin, had that only been a month ago?), Morag had been met with annoyance upon annoyance; everyone behaving childishly when they were supposed to act like adults, now, and she was honestly getting sick and tired of everyone. Even Michael, who seemed to be flirting with anything that moved, was starting to wear down her patience and she was so, so close to snapping. And, really, if she were truly honest with herself, she would realise that the horrid mood she was in basically stemmed from that, but she could not -- would not allow herself to still have feelings for her ex-boyfriend. That just couldn't happen.

Morag rarely admitted to much, specially when it came to things she enjoyed, but things had been so horrible lately that she didn't have any trouble telling Dean she was actually looking forward to their walk. Her relationship with Dean was a weird one, yet entirely pleasant. While everyone just got defensive whenever Morag opened her mouth, Dean would actually come back with a snarky retort and that was what basically warmed him up to her; people who didn't fairly fight back were such a waste of time. And in their little, messed up relationship, they actually got to talking and getting things off their chest... it was pleasant, indeed.

Having skipped dinner, Morag waited until it was almost 7:30 to walk out to the front steps of the castle. She hated being late to appointments, no matter how unimportant they were, and usually made it a point of arriving right on time, if not earlier. Morag also hated waiting for people, and unless Dean had some sort of death wish, she hoped it wouldn't take him too long to arrive.

"Oh, please, as if they'd care," she said, rolling her eyes at him once again. "Something happens to you and they find another chaser, maybe make Draco the captain and what happens to you? You become 'Dean Urquhart; the has-been.' No one will remember your face three days afterwards." She kept a straight face as she talked, not even cracking the smallest of smiles. Her statement held some truth to it, even if she wasn't blatantly criticising Dean's abilities as a Quidditch player and captain. "You got that wrong, dear. Who wouldn't want to be me? I'm smart, wealthy, drop-dead gorgeous... and have I mentioned modest, too?" Morag gave a slight shrug, "you're right, though. Being this amazing can be quite tiring at times, but you've got to do what you've got to do."

Morag stopped laughing abruptly and smacked Dean's arm the slightest bit harder when he started blabbing about Sam. As much as she didn't care about other people's sexual preferences, she didn't really want to hear about it in full detail. "I wasn't kidding when I told you to spare the gory details, you know?" She was glad she had skipped breakfast, because of the thought of Sam (or Dean, or anyone else that she wasn't involved with) in any sexual situation was kind of nauseating. "So. You're gay and Sam's--" Morag cleared her throat and smirked, "straight. How does that work, exactly? And what did he do to suddenly deserve such hatred from you?"

“Oh ouch, that does actually hurt. I pride myself on my skills. I didn’t know you could be so cruel Morag.” Of course he knew she could be cruel, but he just felt like adding it on. He didn’t mind what said, because honestly as things were it was probably the truth. Dean was good at quidditch and a great captain, in his books, but for the other people out there he didn’t know what they thought of him and he really didn’t care. His thoughts though strayed as he said he was wrong, and looked at her shocked. “Me wrong, never possible. I am right, because who wants to be Morag MacDougal…honestly. I think they would prefer to be me.” He gave this smug look. Sometimes Dean didn’t even want to be Dean, and that was happening with the whole gay thing. He was going to have to tell his parents soon. “To be that amazingly full of it is hard.”

“Sorry, didn’t mean to get into details.” He said as if he didn’t want to be hit again, which was the truth. “Yup I’m gay, and well Sam…I’m not going to call him straight because some of things he has done would seriously counteract that. I’m going to go with bisexual.” Dean said it with some confidence. “As for what he did, he thought it would be fun, hot and sexy to throw Booth into the mix. Let me say that is just disgusting. Booth Huntington is just ew.” Dean said this with extreme disgust. The Hufflepuff just drove him mad, he was afraid of losing Sam to him. “Oh and by the way Sam is straight if you are talking to anyone else.”

"Don't lie now, of course you knew," she laughed, then, but was quick to change the subject. Talking about Quidditch wasn't something Morag was too fond of and the last thing she wanted was to get Dean in full rant mode about the game. She got enough of that from Mikey, already. "And who would want to be you, honestly, love. No offence," and that even made her laugh, "but you're scrawny, you wear glasses knowing there are ways to fix your eyesight and, ugh Merlin, that hat you wear sometimes!" Morag made a face and promptly reached up to take off his beanie hat. "Hm, slight improvement, though there's still a lot to be done."

She made sure to keep the hat out of his reach, shaking her head as she heard of Sam's antics. "Merlin, Samuel is such a hypocrite! Again, why do you deal with him? Of all the men in this place..." Morag actually gagged as Dean mentioned Booth Huntington and whatever it was Sam had planned to do. "And he's dabbling with Hufflepuffs! How you didn't hex him to pieces, I don't understand." She was glad, though, that Dean had opposed to that... she would have probably walked away if he had said he'd agreed with him. "Like bloody hell he is. You can't just tell me this and pretend I won't at least make fun of him once."

“Yeah I do know, that was a lie you are really cruel.” He gave her look of agreement and looked around the grounds at their actual location and then finally looked back to Morag when she called him scrawny and insulted his hat. “I like that hat, give it back my head is now cold.” He pouted; of course it was fake he didn’t really mind. He ruffled his messy hair, he wore a hate for a reason. “As for my glasses, I don’t really care, it gives me character.” He said in a matter of fact tone. “There is no need to improve me I look perfectly fine, Sam doesn’t seem to complain.” He said as he tried to reach for his hat.

“I deal with him because he is hot.” Dean said, and some of it was the truth, but he also liked other things about him. He just didn’t want to get into them and sound too much like a girl, which he knew he would. “I would have liked to hex him, but I was a little preoccupied with shooting daggers from my eyes at Booth. He interrupted us.” Dean sighed after he said this, and he just went back reaching for his hat. “As for the other men, I sort of need to find another gay guy and not being out causes a problem with that.”

He waited for a second before commenting to her making fun of Sam. “Go for if you want just make it private. He will kick my ass, and I don’t want the whole school know.”

"Bloody hell, stop whining, you look better without it on," Morag insisted, still keeping the hat away from him. She would spell it away if he kept persisting. "The only character your glasses give you is that of a nerd. How bad is your eyesight, anyway?" Morag was tempted to take off his glasses, as well, but that probably would be harder to accomplish. "Well, Sam's opinion doesn't matter. Mine, on the other hand, is pretty vital. What does it say about you that Sam likes the way you look, when he also likes Huntington?" She made a face and even went as far as sticking her tongue out.

"Oh Merlin, listen to yourself! I think this beanie hat has done some serious damage to your brain." Morag felt like smacking some sense into Dean, more for the pleasure of smacking him silly than anything else, of course, but he seemed to really need it. Throwing his hat over her shoulder, she let out a quick breath and linked her arm through his again to resume their walk. "I can't believe I'm about to say any of this and I swear to Merlin I'll have you locked up in St. Mungo's for insanity if you ever repeat it, but you deserve someone better than Samuel. You're kind of an okay person and he is, well, kind of an asshole! Surely you can do better than him." She had hit a whole new level of low, Morag thought as she kept walking. First, it was Anthony asking for relationship advice and now she was freely giving it to Dean. Merlin, what was next? Playing matchmaker? The thought made her shudder.

"I would lose what little respect I have for you if you let Harper kick your ass, honestly. And who the bloody fuck cares if the whole school finds out? Not that I would say anything, of course, because I have better things to do with my time than spread gossip, but I'm only saying that he would definitely deserve it."

“My eyesight is pretty bad, so don’t take them off. Just give me back my hat.” Dean sighed as he looked at her. He wanted his hat back, he felt complete with it. He always wore it when not in classes so it made him feel complete. “As for his taste, I’m not exactly the attractive looking person. So I questioned his taste in the first part.” Dean ran his fingers through his hair; it was a strange feeling because he was admittedly not use to it.

Dean was rather surprised she was saying he deserved someone better, that was the last thing he expected. It was sort of strange really, but it was also sort of comforting. “I don’t exactly know how to find someone else.” Dean was being completely honest; he didn’t really know how to tell when a guy was gay. It wasn’t like he was asking Morag for help though, but if she knew someone it would be nice of her to say.

Dean was shocked she would think he would let him kick his ass, sure he said it but he wouldn’t let it happen. “I don’t think I would let him kick my ass, at least without giving him some sort of black eye.” Dean laughed a little and cast a quick glance back to where his hat had landed. He used his free hand and got his wand. “Accio Hat.” He looked at Morag as he got his hat back. “Fantastic,” he smirked as he pulled on his hat. “Now as for Sam deserving it he does, but it would out me and that does not sound appealing.”

Morag shrugged off Dean's comment and didn't say anything else about the subject. If Dean thought himself unattractive, then that was his problem, not hers. She couldn't - and wouldn't - do anything to talk him out of him, because if another compliment left her mouth, she would have to kill herself. She had already said a lot of things she would regret later on.

"Ugh, do I have to play matchmaker now, too?" As horrid as the idea seemed, Morag thought it could probably be fun... and just the slightest bit embarrassing for Dean. Grinning, as her brain starting coming up with ideas, she gave Dean's arm a light squeeze. "I help you find a boyfriend and you be my personal slave for the rest of the year," Morag proposed with a chuckle. She doubted Dean would fall for it - making deals with Morag was almost up there with making deals with the devil - but she didn't lose anything with trying. "And I mean the school year, by the way."

Morag scoffed when Dean accio'ed his hat back and shook her head, irritated. "The hat needs to go. It's absolutely dreadful!" And the glasses, too, even if he was a blind mice without them. She would make it her personal goal to get rid of them before the Christmas holidays came about. "And anyway, if word went out about Samuel, no one needs to know you're involved."

“Matchmaker? I think not.” Dean looked at Morag as if she was off her rocker. He would never make a deal with her just to have her set him up with some weird guy. Yeah he would much prefer to pick his on guys, if he was going to pick one at all. “I am not making a deal with you, being your personal slave would be hell.” Dean knew her well enough to know that being her personal slave would be horrid.

“As for my hat, it is stay.” He gave her a look like don’t mess with the hat. Dean wanted to keep this hat if he could help it. Dean was sure it was possible as long as Morag didn’t get her way. “He will know it was me and then take it out on me. I don’t want to talk to him or deal with his shit right now.”

"Ruin my fun, why don't you?" Morag said through a pout, smacking his arm once again. No matter, she thought as he kept talking, just because he had said no, didn't mean she would actually listen to him. Morag MacDougal didn't take orders from anyone, specially not anyone younger than her. And even if she didn't get Dean as her personal slave - and really, how horrid could that be? - she would get her fun in some other way.

"As for your hat, I suggest you hide it in your trunk and use your best locking charm to keep it from being shred into pieces." If there was something Morag was, besides heartless and a total annoyance, it was stubborn. The more Dean kept arguing about the bloody hat, the more she wanted to get rid of it and once she got her mind set on something - even if it was something as ridiculous as a hat - she wouldn't keep still until she accomplished it. "You do realise that ignoring someone who shares a room with you is impossible, right? And I don't care, really, if he knows it was you. You can hold your own against him and if he gets too whiny, you can simply sew his mouth shut."

Dean just looked at her like she was nuts, how was he ruining her fun? What did she actually think he would be her personal slave for the year? That would be the funniest thing he had heard all year if it was the case. Dean just hoped she was joking. Still her playing matchmaker wasn’t that bad of an idea, but he could do it on his own.

“No my hat will be on my head, otherwise it would defeat the purpose and you would win.” Dean loved his hat, it was a part of him and it was strange not to wear it. He was comfortable in it. It would not be something he would give up without a fight. “Yes, I do realize that it is very hard to ignore someone the next bed over.” Dean looked at Morag and sighed. “If you have to make fun of him for it fine. We are already arguing so what would be different?”
