First Thread!
WHO. Augusta Avery and Geoffrey Longbottom.
WHAT. Searching for a lost, horrifically ugly brooch.
WHEN. Sunday evening, Jan. 17th.
WHERE. Gryffindor Tower. (shh!!)
Essentially, Augusta was irritated. Her brooch had gone missing, just like that. Not even a month with it in her possession, and she managed to lose it.
Just like that. After a half and hour of blind panic, rushing about, throwing things aside and making even more of a mess than what she started with, Augusta decided to Be Rational. And then after a moment of rational thought she began to tear more of her room apart in a desperate attempt to find her brooch. When she felt it wasn't in her room (to the best of her knowledge and that's all she could have hoped for anyway), she left the dormitory and went to walk it out about downstairs in the common room.
Of course, in both places,
Accio hadn't worked. Or, it had, and it had simply failed. Augusta hated that, hated Charms. Why wouldn't it work for her? Why couldn't she get it right? Instead of having to slump about, pushing things aside and looking on all her clothing and handbags and other assorted things she didn't actually need. Presumably, when she left, either a house-elf had cleaned, or one of her dorm mates had cast a
reparo or something to that effect, because when she walked in, the room was once again as neat as it had been before she began her rampage.
As soon as she was about to despair, though, help came in the form of her dear friend Geoffrey, offering to help her find her lost and treasured brooch. He had liked it when he first saw it, and he was seemingly the only person in the entire school who shared her sentiments on the piece.
So now he
had to help.
Saying that she would meet him at the entrance of the Gryffindor Common room, Augusta stood and leaned against the wall patiently. This had to go as sneakily as possible, else let a prefect or anyone else discover that an outside was in their common room. ...Maybe even their dorms. But only if the search went there. Only if that. And nothing else.
