Rolling his eyes at her response, he bumped his shoulder lightly into hers. ‘So it’s your shift today?’ He knew his friends cared a lot for him and George, but he still wasn’t used to them all worrying over nothing. Verity was always poking her head round the door whenever one of them yelped in the back room, though he supposed she had an invested interest in them. They were her employers after all and Fred was a little bit more on top, but he wasn’t dwelling on that fact.
Noticing the blush, he shook his head, a soft chuckle escaping him. ‘Didn’t mean to shock you; this time.’ Still, he was glad she didn’t launch into a lecture or anything. He’d already had one of those today. Raising one red brow, he gave her a cheeky smirk, ‘what do you want to do with me?’ Tilting his head, he considered her words. ‘There’s not much of the day left, it’s gone six. But if you’re intent on keeping an eye on me I could come back to yours…’
