Oliver bent down at the foot of the large pile of wood that was in his garden, using his wand to aim a spell into the centre of it. Moving back quickly he watched as the fire began to spread, starting the bonfire. Quickly he made his way around the fire, pushing foil wrapped potatoes into it; apparently something muggles did on bonfire night which he through sounded quite interesting. Oliver took several steps back and shivered as he passed through the wards he had placed around the bonfire. They were only there to stop any stray pups heading for the flames.

Whistling Oliver called Bailey and Dram to him, chuckling as they came barrelling over. Oliver planned on putting the dogs into a large pen he had built and then silencing it while the fireworks were going off, he didn’t want them to be frightened.

Hearing the doorbell go Oliver headed to the front door, thankful that everything was sorted already and pulled it open to see who the first person arriving would be.

“Hey, come on in” He grinned brightly, chuckling as Dram and Bailey jumped at the persons feet.

George was nervous but he couldn't let that side of himself show because he was a Gryffindor and Gryffindors were brave and reckless and it was silly to feel nervous when going to a party with friends. But, then again, he never had a Grumpy Slytherin tagging along with him to any other party they had.

He knew that if his friends were his true friends they wouldn't care who he was sleeping with but that still didn't squish the fear that they could still react badly. He remembered the way Oliver had reacted. They hadn't spoken for roughly a week after the fight that had ensued when Oliver found out. George didn't really want to experience that horrible feeling again but a tiny part of his mind thought he just might have to.

Arriving at Oliver's, fashionably late, with the pups in toe, George paused before making his way over to the front door. He still held the older Slytherin's hand from when the side-along apparated. "Last chance to back out now, Grumpy." George's voice sounded calm, a complete contract to the buzzing he felt inside.

Impulsive. He had to be impulsive. More like Forge.

He leaned up and gave the Chaser a quick kiss, hoping to encourage the Slytherin, and then moved over to the door, where Nessie and Caff sat patiently waiting for George to come and open it for them. Well, okay, maybe not patiently, Caff was trying to headbutt the door open - that mutt was so like him sometimes - while Nessie seemed to think he could climb the door and was currently staring at the door handle as if he had mind powers to open it.

George chuckled a little at his pups antics. "Okay, okay, you wanna see your friends." George spoke to the pups as if they could understand him, which they could. You ask him, he'll tell you. He put a hand on the door handle, knowing Oliver wouldn't mind if he just let himself in, then shot a small grin at Marcus before pushing it open.

This was going to be one interesting party. One he was sure many would never forget. (Well, depending on how sober they were by the end, of course).

He really didn't know why he was doing this. Well he did. But he couldn't for the life of him understand it. Effectively he was going to a party where most of the attendees were Gryffindors or rival players, and he was going with a man. A man he was sleeping with. He had told George that he trusted him, which he did, but he couldn't help but wonder if the red head's faith in his friends was as well founded.

Glancing up at the house before him, Wood's house, Marcus frowned a little, chewing on the inside of his lip. His fingers curled a little tighter around Twink's at the question and he shook his head. 'Not backing out.' Returning the kiss, he followed where he was lead, Mac trotting alongside him. The big puppy wasn't quite as bold as Guinness and Caffrey and he sat by Marcus' feet, waiting to be let inside the house.

Seeing the grin, Marcus couldn't return it, instead he nodded to show he was okay with George opening the door. Still, he kept hold of the beater's hand, just in case they were yelled at from the start. He could still remember the shouting match Oliver and George had had when the Scot found he and Twink kissing in the shadows. Two fluffy pups bounded over to greet them and soon all five dogs were playing, making it a little difficult not to smile.

Oliver had been outside checking the bonfire when the pups who had been playing nearby barked and ran towards the house. Realising that meant someone must have arrived Oliver stood from his crouched position and made his way inside.

Coming into the entranceway, a couple of minutes after the pups Oliver grinned spotting five dogs playing together and make quite a bit of noise. Just from the dogs who had arrived Oliver knew who had arrived.

"Hey," he wandered over, making sure to step over the pile of fluff that were their dogs. "Glad you could make it," Oliver would have been surprised about the pair that were stood in front of him, but after catching them snogging in a dark corridor he expected it. When he had found them, Oliver had caused a nasty fight which left him and George not talking, but now Oliver realised his friend deserved to be happy. If it was Flint that made George happy then so be it.

"Alcohol is in the kitchen and when the fireworks go off I've set up a pen outside for the dogs which is soundproof and stops any sparks from getting too close," Oliver tried to remember everything he needed to say.

George smiled into the kiss, pleased with Marcus' answer. He didn't want to push the Slytherin but George was kind of sick of hiding. It wasn't really in his nature to hide but he guessed he could understand why Marcus thought he had to.

He gave the fingers holding his own a little squeeze of reassurance as he opened the door, watching the pups practically bounce over to greet Dram and Bailey. Mac seemed to be a bit more polite compared to Nessie and Caff and was gentle in introducing himself to Oliver's smaller puppies.

"That one's Dram," George leant closer to Marcus, pointing out one of Oliver's pups, his voice soft so only Marcus could hear him. "The other one is Bailey." He smirked back at the Chaser. "Yup, we Gryffs love our alcohol."

When Oliver came to the door to greet them, George turned his attention to the Scot. The older Gryffindor did seem genuinely glad they could make it. "You know I never miss a chance to light things on fire, Ollysocks." George replied, a cheeky undertone to his voice. And yes, George just called Oliver 'socks'. There was a purpose behind that - socks were generally regarded as one of the most unsexy items of clothing, which made sense because Oliver wasn't sexy in the slightest... to him, anyway.

"Hear that, Grumpy, our friend Jack is in the kitchen." He didn't care if Oliver got confused over who or what Jack was. Grumpy would know - at least, George figured Marcus would know. "Shall we go greet him before we face the rest of them?"

As George pointed out the name of each puppy, Marcus nodded, storing the information away. He was usually good with names, so hopefully he'd remember those easily enough. Smiling a little at the alcohol comment, Marcus looked up as Oliver approached. The greeting sounded absolutely genuine and he was relieved, glad that things were right between the two Gryffindors again.

'You've thought of everything.' Marcus commented when Oliver mentioned the pen for the dogs. His free hand found Mac instinctively, the pup nosing his fingers lightly between bouts of play with the others. The Great Dane wasn't keen on fireworks, not liking the loud noises. But with four other puppies around and a soundproofed pen, he would be okay.

Looking back to George, he nodded, green eyes amused, 'yeah, let's go and say hello to Jack first.'

Hearing his latest nickname, Oliver raised an eyebrow. "OllySocks?" Oliver knew George came up with some weird nicknames, but that was one of the weirdest in a while. "But when ever you would like to light the fireworks is fine by me. Oz is setting up to play afterwards." Oliver grinned, he was glad his friend had agreed to play at the party, it would make it a little different.

"Your friend Jack is in the kitchen, I made sure to get a large bottle after how fast you drank the smaller one at the last party George," Oliver hand't held a party for a while, considering the last one began after a poker game he had held. "I tried, Bailey and Dram don't tend to like loud noises, unlike Caffrey and Nessie, so I figured if I was going to throw a firework party I would need to put them somewhere safe," Oliver shrugged, his dogs were part of his family and he had a feeling the others thought of their dogs exactly the same way, even Flint from the way he had reached to check on his pup.

George laughed at Oliver's raised eyebrow, amused with the Keeper's confusion. "Socks are unsexy, Oliver. Honestly, thought you'd get that one." Yup, George was in a good mood now. Anyone could tell because he had started one of his favourite hobbies of pressing his former Captain's buttons. But it was all good fun and Oliver knew that. Well, at least George thought he knew that.

"Wicked." He grinned at hearing that Oz and his band were playing. "Probably set 'em off as soon as Fred gets here then. He shouldn't be long. Just closing shop." George didn't let on that Fred was working on a last surprise firework.

"I was thirsty." His voice sounded innocent at the mention of how fast he drank the bottle of Jack last time. Although the smug grin said he was quite proud of himself in doing so. His grin changed a little to a small genuine smile - similar to one he gave his Forge but not quite - as the two professional players talked civilly to one another about the pups. It was so much nicer to witness than them all fighting.

Hearing Marcus' answer, George gave a little tug on the other man's hand in the direction of the kitchen. "Come on then, Grumps. Let's leave Ollysocks to greet more of his guests."
