Marcus was sleeping peacefully until he was woken by the sound of Mac growling. Reaching under his pillow for his wand, he slipped out of bed and crept out onto the landing warily. For a big guy, he could move softly if he wished and when faced with the threat of an intruder he could be as stealthy as anyone. The tension left his body as soon as he heard a familiar voice whispering to the puppy.
Muttering lumos under his breath, he directed the wand light at the floor just ahead of the pair. Shaking his head as his dog attempted to drink from the bottle of Jack Daniels Twink had clutched in his hand. Looking George over, a slight frown came to Marcus’ face. The younger man was drunk, that much was obvious, but why he’d chosen to apparate into Marcus’ house whilst in such a state was a mystery.
‘You all in one piece?’ He questioned, stepping forward and brushing his fingers through the Twin’s wild, red hair. ‘No splinches?’ There was genuine concern in his green eyes as he asked and he bit the inside of his cheek. Since when had the red head become so important to him, and if he was that important why didn’t either of them admit what they really felt?
'Come on, back to bed.'
