Harry sat at the bar and ordered himself a firewhiskey, straight, to start his evening. He hadn't had any particular plans for the night, but it felt good to be out and about, still high from his victory at Hogwarts and the New Years Eve party right here at Never Never Land. If the Twins new anything, they knew how to throw a party, and the club was always proof of that.

Nodding with a smile at the familiar bartender, Harry took his drink and turned, looking around the bar for a familiar face.

'Harry!' Ron stood on his toes, making himself even taller as he spotted his best mate over the heads of the crowd. He was shouting quite loudly, but the music drowned out his words. Pushing through the people cluttering the club, he muttered apologies and pardons as he trod on various feet. Graceful was a word that never sprang to mind in regards to Ron. He was far too lanky and uncoordinated for that. 'Oi! Potter!'

Finally Harry glanced in his direction and Ron waved, almost knocking a girl's drink from her hand. 'Oh.. er.. sorry, you alright?' She nodded, with a bemused smile and Ron grinned, apologising again before breaking free of the crowd and leaning against the bar beside his best friend.

'Alright, Harry?'

	Harry turned his head with a smile and a shout, "Ron!" He put up his hand toward his friend, "Doing alright," Harry answered, "still feeling the rush of the matches over the holiday, not even New Years can compare to that," he explained. 'Yeah, you were awesome out there. So were the rest of the team. I'd forgotten how good you lot were.' Ron managed to get the attention of the barman the Twins had named 'Pretty' and ordered a Guinness. He wasn't really one for alcohol, being a bit of lightweight. Which of course meant that his evil brothers usually attempted spiking his drink at least once a night. 'I don't remember much of New Years,' he admitted, sipping his drink as it arrived and handing over muggle cash for it. 'I was here, there were bands, but it all got hazy after midnight.'

He nodded in response to the question, an amused smile on his face. 'I got holiday from Christmas Eve until New Years' Day night. I'm sure they put me on the night shift on purpose. But it was quiet, so I could keep taking pepper up every hour. When's the season start again for you?'

"I'd forgotten how good it felt to fly with them all, I'm always watching them these days," Harry shrugged, having had a lot of the ego battered out of him in his last season on the pitch at school.

Harry couldn't help but laugh at his best friend, "Did the twins get you finally?" Wondering what they might have done to Ron's drink, or maybe if he'd had whatever he'd had on purpose.

"I don't get the same time off as the players, sadly, I'm back in this week, but at least I'm off the pitch for a while, this time of year is murder for a recruiter, even with a warming charm on your cloak. What brings you out tonight?" It wasn't uncommon for both of the boys to end up at Never Never.

'Yeah, I know what you mean.' Ron didn't play quidditch at all any more, despite taking over as Keeper from Wood when he left. 'Only I don't get to watch them very often either.' Sometimes being grown up was annoying.

A puzzled frown crossed his features as he tried to replay New Years' in his head. 'I think they must have done. Lee kept buying me drinks too and Alicia for that matter. maybe they were just trying to get me wasted.' He chuckled a little and took another sip of beer. 'Not that it takes much.'

'Well, I couldn't really sleep, so I thought a pint would help. I was going to go to the Leaky, but I might have run into people from work.' He shrugged at the end of his explanation. 'I'm sure your Dad gets what I mean about Ministry types. You don't really want to share a pint with them. Not that many would with a blood traitor.'

Harry nodded, a dark look passing over his face for a moment, gone almost as soon as it arrived. "And just imagine, he married a muggleborn." Harry had gotten hell for his father's decisions more than once over the years (and imagine the Potter disappointment when he didn't sign up as a Auror trainee with Ron), but as a "pureblood" he'd never quite know what it was like for his mum and dad.

Having had enough of politics throughout the holidays though (it was unavailable when visiting his parents), he sighed, "just think, that's why we're lucky the twins hit it big with the shoppe and opened up this seedy den of debauchery, right?" He toasted his glass to Ron's gently and took a long pull.

Looking around the club, he saw a cute brunette - long, subtle curls, big round doe eyes - and smiled, nudging Ron to send his attention toward the girl.
